Hello everyone. This is just a ramble video. Nothing but chatting about life in general. You can fall asleep or you can comment either or is good.
I'd like to hear from you guys though. I didn't really cover the subjects too well but tell me about what you do that makes you happy. Does your job make you content? Do you constantly wish to improve? And have you got enough out of life so far? I feel like I've been ignoring talking about these sorts of questions for a long time even though they're always on my mind.
KZbin feels like a good platform for me to just stick it out there and people can choose to discuss or ignore either way.

I can't fall asleep to these videos because I'm too interested in what the person has to say, and I also enjoying hearing their story. And for being in my mid-40's I can still relate, have been where you are. Still unhappy with my job, but family and creative outlets help tremendously. As for choices, I learned to just go with what feels right and to trust my instincts more often because all choices will have pros, cons, more choices abs doors, and unforeseen consequences both good and bad. And don't forget not making a choice isn't necessarily a bad choice ;) Thanks for doing this. Loved it.

Ephemeral Rift Good to hear from you man. Yea choices do have their pros and cons, I hate that! I want the perfect choice!. I think a problem I'm having is I'm coming to a realisation I've spent too much time trying to be "normal" but now I'm surrounded by "normal" people. Makes it hard to break away from a lifestyle...

I have a fascination for audio engineering and sound design, but never discovered it until after I was pushed by expectations to pursue something “practical.” Now even after university, I’m struggling to find a career. I know this is 8 years late, but I appreciate this discussion. It really resonated with me.

19 years old and just finished with my first year at college. This was very comforting to hear because I think about a lot of the things you talked about very frequently. Money, jobs, expectations, choices, fulfillment, our purpose, the future of humanity, etc., all of these things float around in my head as I try to just focus on the present. I know a lot of people my age are going through the same thing as me, but it is especially reassuring to listen to another individual talk extensively on these issues. I hope you find your path in life... and wish me luck as I try and find mine.

Raindropsontheglass Hey, thank you for this comment. It helps me find peace of mind to see others enduring and hopefully pushing through issues like these. Good luck, take care :)

I’m not to sure if I would get a reply but, how are you doing now? Are you living the way you thought you would? Are you happy how you are right now?

I absolutely love the part about doing stuff for others, I had a huge discussion with a friend about this, because I feel the same way as you but she doesn't see the point in making things for others : hard to explain to her ! Thanks for your video :) Helps to see i'm not alone, who appreciate helping others , cause it brings something to you ! (sorry for my english, i'm french and still learning :) )

+Boordaf Asmr I can understand both opinions really. People who do stuff for themselves certainly seem to be less stressed haha! I'm glad you watched and enjoyed. Your English is good too :)

I liked this store of consciousness style of delivery! On the subject at hand, your life seems to have followed a very similar route to mine and since leaving education I've found myself very much adrift and not really sure what to do with life. I think I'm a little older than you (and that's probably being generous to me) and still very much working to live and trying to find that holy grail that would give life some sort of meaning, And I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing if you never find it - I think the journey to find yourself and your place in life can ultimately be more fulfilling. Perhaps focus less on what other people have achieved (and I'm not saying you are, but you did mention it a couple of times) and concentrate on finding things that make you happy. Without sounding to airy fairy, do what you like to do, whether for yourself or others, and embrace life. Start with deciding what really matters to you and examining what is right in front of you and work out from there. And remember, the good thing about direction is that you can choose one, but you can always change your mind and go off in a completely different path at any time. Just enjoy the journey - as Oscar Wilde puts it: “It is because Humanity has never known where it was going that it has been able to find its way.” And oops, sorry for the long rambling comment - think I went a bit off topic. And sorry for the pretentious Wilde quote - I really can't help myself.

Chester Bennington That should be STREAM of consciousness. Bloody keyboard!

Chester Bennington No need to apologise, this is great! Nice idea to view the search for meaning as meaning itself, I think if I can get on board with that mentally that would help a lot. Those changes in direction can be hard when there's a level of expectation from people and life has been lead in a certain way to date. Appreciate the comment man

True, others and societies expectations do factor but I think people need to condition themselves away from this sort of thinking as it's just another barrier we're setting up. And that in itself is a difficult process - how to you deprogram 20+ years of conditioning? Wouldn't life be so simple if we knew!

University is the wrong place to learn technical skills as they are too academic and not enough hands on. I went for an interview at a London university to study photography and was told by the head of the course that it was quite feasible to complete the degree without taking any photographs. I decided to take a technical course instead and I'm glad I did.

canturgan Yes I should have thought about the fact that there could be pure technical courses rather than a standard degree. The learning I received at college has stuck with me strong to date.

Ha yea. The EU debate is something that is way too complex for me to feel confident to talk about in public. But I was for staying in the EU. And the UK has voted to leave. I'm frustrated about it, and I think it was honestly not a decision people made with enough good information.
