A brief ramble about my Goodwill experiences, plus a forgotten office chair, and then a whispered show & tell of the items purchased at my most recent trip to Aldi.

Ok, I just left a snarky remark to one of the other girls doing ASMR. I can't stand how so many of them have to try and make it more of a sexual experience or sexual undertones. Ahhh!! Thank you once again for being interesting, funny, humble, creative and keeping it real. I love your class and videos.

Sunny Smile I feel the same way. I hate when they focus too much on making sure their cleavage is showing on camera. I don't bother with those videos anymore.

Taylor G we have Aldi all over Australia and save thousands a year shopping there. Definitely worth switching to it.

ASMR Shivers I definitely do. We just recently had one built about 10 minutes from me and I shop there a lot. Before, the closest Aldi was about 40 minutes away so I didn't get a chance to visit very often. It's really great having one so close to me.

Yay - I love your Aldi hauls! Thank you for this. I'm pretty excited to go to Aldi's this week myself. I love their brand of sweet and salty popcorn. For the cooking video, you might could record yourself cooking the brownies and then do a whisper or soft-spoken voiceover explaining what you're doing. Just a thought. Loved this video as always.

I do the same thing with groceries, I go to 2 or 3 stores and one of them is always Aldi. Great money saver and since they have a smaller selection I don't tend to buy as much stuff I don't need.

Aldi here is known for its extremely bad quality stuff. So much that's i've heard many time that even the money you saved there wasn't enough compared to the drop in quality. Or maybe it's not the same Aldi we're talking about.

Guanfei where is your aidl?
@SouthernASMRSounds7 жыл бұрын
Guanfei That's not been my experience at Aldi, personally. I love the quality of their products.
@Meretneith7 жыл бұрын
That's interesting because it is known that at least in Germany the "ALDI brands" are actually products from known companies. They have an agreement not to sell it under their name and make it cheaper but to sell more in the end. I think ALDI follows the same strategy in other countries too. Here in Germany even people who good afford more expensive stores buy at ALdI becaue actually quality and prices are good.
@AgedBacon7 жыл бұрын
Well as far as i know, here in France, most people don't like Aldi, and only those with very limited incomes go there. I tried it too, and of course there was famous brands, but with average prices, and there was unknown brand sold at low prices, but what i bought there was disgusting.
@amaryl237 жыл бұрын
Interesting indeed, as I'm in the UK and shop almost exclusively at ALDI!:D The only thing is they haven't got any lactose free products (they do gluten free weeks, however) and as i'm lactose intolerant, I have to go to the supermarket to get those. I spend the same amount of money on one half full bag of lactose free products in supermarket, as i do for 4 bags of shopping at ALDI!!! (nudge nudge ALDI, I know Germany has a fantastic range of lactose free, far wider than the Dutch brand sold here...) Produce always lasts far longer than from supermarkets (although you need to know what you're buying). I can tell where the meat is coming from, as the packaging is pretty much the same, as known supermarket, but under different name and always British (i appreciate local sourcing) - less than half the price though. High majority of the special buys in central island are of really good quality and fantastic price (so even if you do hit the 1 in 20 that's not quite hit the mark, it doesn't hurts your wallet so much ;) Your experience of Aldi sounds exactly like LIDL here, to be honest. They have actual branded products for slightly lower price, but I don't find it low enough for it to be worth it - a lot of the times I actually like prefer ALDI products and their own brands and find them better quality and with fewer nasty ingredients than in branded products. My parents have similar experience with LIDL in Central Europe (Slovakia) with regards to the central isle of the store, as you Guanfei. Cheap and breaks easily - the novelty has worn off fairly quickly :D They do, however, enjoy the other products they get there, as it's a mix of Slovak and Austrian/German products. Over here we get the English brands and it feels like walking through a supermarket isle - not as exciting as ALDI - feels much more like community oriented place and people are far nicer to you in my experience. Has to be said they are looked after - their hourly wage is very good in comparison. The one thing I do like about the LIDL here is that they've now got fresh bakeries in the stores - I would love for ALDI to introduce these, would elevate it to the next level :) These 'budget' shops do highly customise on their customer base and I presume they can only deliver as good, as the sister companies in that particular country that will supply them with the main produce. Maybe it just wasn't such a fortunate deal for the part of France where you are or France at all, which is such a shame. I'd love you to enjoy it as much as we do!:) PS1: Mary, yes please for the budgeting! I' already buying in ALDI and/or buying in bulks to reduce the number of times we go to shops, as that increases bills incredibly. Besides, I'm organiser, I like lists, labels, all in its rightful place :D though I'm juggling full time job, 3h daily commute and part time Masters degree - stretches your wallet to corners you didn't it had! haha It's always very interesting to see how other people budget and learn from them, so yes please!:) (didn't mean to make it sound all about me there, i'm sure other people are in similar situations and would love to hear your tips!) PS2: APOLOGIES FOR THIS LENGTHY ESSAY!!!:D
