Thanks for explaining the price of grading cards. I have a mike trout rookie card I’m gonna send in.

Nice! I've been wanting one of those for a long time but the prices are crazy high. Hope you get a 10, brother!

ASMR Sports it’s in really nice condition but will probably get an 7-8 tbh. There’s a slight indent on the side due to me moving and it was in the binder. I never knew how important that card was until someone pointed it out.

you should crack that soto and send it back. or to BGS. ive seen WAY more OC cars get 10s. thats a 9.5 BGS for sure.

Buck Futtler my husband did that with a black border Gleyber rookie - originally graded as PSA 9, cracked it, sent in again, and it came back as a 10 🤔

Card grading is such a shady industry these days. Grades are extremely subjective and there is little consistency with grades. Both PSA and BGS are both guilty of this, but I would say BGS is the worst. Their QA/QC is practically non-existent. I couldn't tell you how many cards I've gotten back from BGS where the auto grade tab is cock-eyed. I have also seen several cards with facsimile signatures with actual auto grades assigned to the sigs as if the signatures were real. To me there is no excuse for that. If there were ever a time to start up a card grading business, now is it. Of course it would take some time to garner the trust and respect of collectors, but if you give the customers a consistent product and provide a quality service, I believe it could be done. I've been thinking about this for quite some time now.

It varies depending on several factors. The more cards you submit, the better rate you are given per card. If any of the cards you submit are autographed and you would like to have a numerical grade assigned to the actual signature that is separate from the grade assigned to the condition of the card itself there is an additional fee for that, however a lot of collectors choose to submit autographed cards to PSA that have less than perfect signatures (streaking, signature going off-card) because PSA will grade the cards condition only if you choose not to have the auto graded. This is typically done when the signature is the only aspect of the card that there is an issue with, resulting in the card still getting a PSA 10 and simply not showing a less than perfect auto grade. BGS grading will not do this, if a card is autographed, BGS will require the signature to be assigned a grade. The underlying reasoning behind sending these cards to PSA instead of BGS is that a PSA 10 without an auto grade will sell for a far greater amount on the secondary market than the same card graded by BGS as 9.5, with an auto grade of 9.0. Not many people will even consider purchasing a card with a less than perfect auto grade of 10. The biggest factor in determining grading cost per card is the turnaround time you require. Obviously the faster you want your card graded and returned to you, the more you are going to pay. Note however that most of the time turnaround times are not guaranteed. With the uprise in popularity and demand of graded cards these days, both PSA and BGS stay backed up and often times there are delays.

You might be a good person to ask. I have this 2000 upper deck ionix baron davis that is numbered 31/100 and I can’t find it anywhere so I have no idea what the value would be. I know it’s a low number but it’s also baron Davis who is just a mid-tier player. Just wondering your thoughts on value and if it would be worth getting graded
@williamtcoker5 жыл бұрын
Gage Hogan unfortunately Davis doesn't really have the following required to bring any sort of value to his cards. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...
