Not a young man, a 51 year old woman and long time listener. I have noticed that a lot of your advice videos gear a lot towards sacrificing hard in the early years of your life. Sacrificing is essential to get ahead but it needs to be in moderation. A long life is not guaranteed, unfortunately many won’t live to see 50 or 40 or even 30. While I appreciate hard work, living life and enjoying the NOW is essential ❤ after all, if you work your ass off and don’t enjoy life until you’re 40 and then die at 45. Did you really live?
@ASMRReality4 ай бұрын
You sound just like my mom. LOL! I respect the heck out of you for saying this. The sacrifice is certainly a gamble but I believe you have to play the odds. Odds are you aren't going to die when you are 30. If you are born into poverty like I was, there really is no other choice other than to stay poor or work like hell to get out of it. I listened to my mom week in and week out telling me I should slow down but today, she acknowledges that I was right. I have bought her a new car recently and spent $5k landscaping her home. I make it easy for her to admit she was wrong. HA!

@@ASMRReality Well, there’s a first, I’ve never been told by someone my age that I sound like their mom🤣🤣 I totally get your mindset on this subject, given your upbringing..
@ASMRReality4 ай бұрын
@TallieStevens Obviously I don't relate you to being my mom, of course. Its just that I spent my whole life listening to her caution me about working so much. I understand that if I would have died at 45, it would have all been for nothing but given that I did not, I am super happy I endured the misery of all of it. I also think about what if I hadn't done it and then I woke up today at 52 and was broke and struggling to pay my bills....quite certain I would have massive regrets and likely end up doing something drastic like making it all end...if you know what I mean.

Wow Derek!! Another great video - thought provoking as usual. Thank you so so much for putting out such impactful content. One book/movie philosophy I really like goes something like this: “there are two kinds of people, those chasing pleasure, and those running from pain.” What happens to us in our childhood goes with us and shapes the rest of our lives. I think some people are more prone to “sacrifice” and favoring their career over personal life. Some people are here mostly for a good time, others never had a family growing up so it became their main goal, some are workaholics or just eternally searching for that sense of security in the financial aspect. But I genuinely believe that some people are simply unable to sit back, relax and bask in all they’ve achieved *so far*. It’s a blessing and a curse, constantly chasing the next challenge. Ultimately, it’s what elevates and separates the ordinary from the extraordinary. And to achieve that, you have to make sacrifices. ❤

Hello Derek, I enjoy your videos and think that your clicky whispers are some of the best. You mention that you believe that you'll live until you're a 110 years old, are you changing anything to do with the way you eat, sleep and train at all? Maybe a video of you explaining your thoughts would be a good idea 👌 I believe genetics are a big factor in longevity, you could be the healthiest individual and your organs could still give out. Although, eating unhealthy food, smoking, drinking alcohol on a regular basis wouldn't be beneficial towards living longer either.

Hey Derek im a young European who's in between start in as a real estate agent or as a car salesman. Wich one is better from your point of view? I know you where a manager at toyota and now a real estate agent. Is because real estate is better? Thank you in advance.
@ASMRReality4 ай бұрын
You need a database of customers to be able to be successful in real estate. Starting in car sales will allow you to build up that database of customers. At a car dealership, people come to you. In real estate, you have to find customers. Car sales is much easier to start in than real estate. Definitely start with cars!
@jayjay97784 ай бұрын
@@ASMRReality Thank you, do you have a video explaining why you transitioned to Real Estate?
@ASMRReality4 ай бұрын
@@jayjay9778 I did go over it in one of my older videos but I will make an updated one soon. Truly I did 26 total years in the car business and just wanted to do something that did not take so much time. Working at a dealership is like a typical job. You have to be there at a certain time and can't leave till your shift is over. Its a lot of hours. I wanted more freedom in my life and real estate afforded me that. I would never be as successful as I am today in real estate if I didn't have my client base from selling cars. You need to prove your success in sales before you try to sell real estate. It is much more difficult to start in real estate than any other sales industry. If you are successful in cars, you will be successful in real estate but you need to save about a years worth of income to get started because it takes a long while to start making money when selling home.

eat meals at home - cut any subscriptions you have - no cable - get a nest thermostat to lower home heating and cooling expenses - stop shopping for clothes - don't use a credit card use debit instead - primarily just spend less than you make and invest whatever you can save in a place where it makes interest
