I hope you’re doing well and I’m looking forward to the next video where we will be cosy and Christmassy! 🤗 Epictetus would fit nicely in any English pub, with his own special seat and pint glass at the end of the bar. Everyone knows him in the village, he’s always in the pub. I like him 😁 There were a few quotes that I edited out as I thought they would be a bit triggering for some. Overall though the book is fun and insightful, I enjoyed discovering it for the first time with you! Apologies for all of the edits. I filmed too quickly after eating lunch and my stomach was giving you a digestion concert. Thank you so much, Emma. You have helped me through some of the hardest times, finding ASMR in 2013 after losing my father at 23. Healing with your loving mother energy. I said goodbye to the most important thing in my life last month on the 13th, Archibald, my almost 11 year old corgi. Today has been especially hard. I can lay and relax now. This was one of the first ASMRtists I ever found. I was 19, very stressed, and I learned that there were videos made specifically for sleeping to help soothe the mind. I’m now 27, life is still stressful, but Emma has shut down panic attacks and kept me company when I didn’t want any in very hard times. I hope someone blesses Emma in ways that none of uRe able to for the gift of unwavering peace she sends our way.

Epictetus, along with Marcus Aurelius, are two of the most important stoic philosophers. Marcus Aurelius is a name you may have heard of as he was a Roman emperor, but he cited Epictetus, a slave, as a major influence on his thought. For the most powerful person in the (Roman) world to cite someone from the very lowest rung of society in those times was unheard of, and is a true testament to the stoic philosophy as an egalitarian method of understanding human beings as they are in the world. It relates to us all; rich or poor, young or old, wise or foolish. Thank you for making an ASMR vid on this topic Emma!

You are incredibly good at this. The way you gently move your hands and nails across the paper is exhilarating, and the way you whisper just loud enough to get across what you are saying is perfect. There are times when I can barely understand what you are saying because of your accent and soft-spoken quality, but I like that. Sometimes I just like to listen to a person as they whisper so softly all I hear are the sounds that form their words. I can tune in and listen if I choose to or tune out and just enjoy the sounds, so it’s a fine balance you’ve struck. I first listened to you read The Velveteen Rabbit, and was in bliss, and now that I see you have more videos you can bet I’ll watch many more. Thank you for the great content and relaxation you bring.

Perfect, wow! I have been watching and listening to you and other ASMR for years but never experienced anything like that, wow! Tingles, floating, tiny muscle spasms, wow! Intensity! I watch "sound treatment" with you and Maria quite frequently, one of my favorites. Also you did one where you went to a shop and made candles, but I cant find that one since. Wonderful video, Emma. I’m several hours late watching this, but man was it worth the wait. I also had never heard of this book before, so it was definitely interesting hearing you read it, even though I’m not currently interested in types of books like this one. Everything sounded wonderful in this. I especially enjoyed the book tapping, paper and gentle fabric rustling sounds, as well as the gentle reading in this, so thank you for including all of those. Hi Emma, do you know that ads have started playing at the ends of your videos? This was never the case before, its woken me up a couple of times. Just wanted to let you know in case you weren't aware. I know some ASMR artists have ads at the ends of their videos purposely though. Hi Emma, Mike here in Northern California, I’ve been watching your videos for years , your hand movements and gentle speech is hypnotizing and helps me to sleep, I’m just a normal guy who does guy type things, and please forgive me for asking, but why do women not put nail polish on the underside of their nails, I noticed that on this wonderful video, especially on your thumb nails , I think it would make them more finished looking,

Hi Mike, thank you for saying hello and for your kind words! That’s a good question. I think the answer would be that they would look less natural, perhaps a bit unusual. I actually tried it once many years ago and it looked odd on camera, I thought. I just try to keep them clean now. I know what you mean though! Maybe someone could make it fashionable 😊
