[ASMR Whispering] I Modified my Gameboy Advanced SP

🎧:In this video we whisper about the modifications I did to a Gameboy Advanced SP. I was going to create a nice video of me taking the GBA apart but it was a big struggle since I kept messing up. It ended up taking many hours and I stripped all the screws so I had to break some parts to open the case lol. It works not I guess so that's the important part. Love the new screen. Going to be great for videos!

For the side thing (I also don’t know what they are called lol) if they are plastic you can put them in boiling/hot water for a few seconds and it will make them easier to put make in

Turned out great! Makes me want to mod up my old backpack warrior from when I was 8. At the same time though I’m scared I’d have the outcome of stripping those screws😂

I had similar problems when I modded my gameboy. I bought the wrong shell as well and it gave me a headache working around it. Wish quality control on the hardware was higher but can’t complain. Looks good tho man 👍

Yea wish the QC was a little better but like these are not billion dollar companies so I understand. I not really going to complain either. If the screen was trash then I would because that was the only thing some what expensive.

@@SilentSounds screen is amazing! Haha yeah kinda curious if the quality is better if you were to buy it complete off Etsy or eBay. Too expensive. You should definitely do some alternate color scheme with the black and red. I did white shell and black buttons with red accents looks super clean

@@drowsy9701 on ebay the whole things would be like 150-200 which i mean sounds expensive but it already comes together with no work. The screen was like 60$. I do want more of a red black combination. I think adding some black stickers on the red one would be cool. I do really prefer to have a black gba with some red accents but that might be the next project

@@SilentSounds the stock gba sp is selling for. Around 80$. The 101 goes for more as well. Some are selling for 100 plus. So yeah after changing the screen makes sense for it to sell for ≈200$

@@SilentSounds so in black2/white2 after you beat the champion you unlock a key that you can use to change the difficulty in the game. it requires two DS to actually transfer the key out, start a new save file and transfer the key back to unlock challenge mode :) there’s some info on it on serebii

Japan gets cool skins. I was saving up to get a Sealed Box or at least a Decent Used one, but i think I'll go the cheaper router and only buy the shell. I'm not tech savvy, so I'll need to watch tutorials on how to replace the shell.

Just make sure you get a good screw driver! Stripping the screws was a problem for me. There some super cool shells too.

I was literally gonna recommend this when you talked about how hard filming gba screen is. Did you go IPS 2 or 3?

hmmmm not sure i think it was 2 is there a big difference??

@@SilentSounds Not much, some minor color adjustment, like a 5% quality difference, and the V3 tends to have a video out with it.

in this video i didnt upgrade the battery however for christmas i bought a new one that is 850mAh so it SHOULD last longer. TBH though I havent tested to see how long it works. :/ A new battery should last a lot longer

Good effort - braver than I. I want to mod the original GBA model as the form factor suits my hands, the SP & Micro are too cramped! My AGS 101 can only get me so far - the screens are wayy better though eh, you can actually SEE the games properly 😂

@@SilentSounds the screen looks AMAZING, I love the mod! It does suck you couldn’t use the groudon case tho, for 15 bucks you would expect smth sturdy. I’m also surprised your screws were being annoying, Ik it’s a ‘little’ old but dang the fact they’re stripped and the top doesn’t even have any screws; hopefully it doesn’t fall and come apart lol. Cant wait to see videos in the future, they’re gonna be so darn good!!

haha 100%??? and not pokemon?! Wow thats hard, i actually havent played many other non pokemon GBA games sadly XD. Pokemon was always my go too. I played some starwars and beyblade games but they werent that fun. I need to play more and get cultured and get back to you on this haha. Any recommendations? Someone said try "mother 2"? I think that is what it called. A friend wants me to play some of the Final fantasy games on GBA. Looks fun
