I got all of these items from www.therapyshoppe.com/ - I purchased them all myself, but of course want to link in case anyone thinks these items might be helpful to them!
Todays video I was soooo sosososo excited to film! I am also so sorry - I KNOW I found this website via either a tik tok or another youtube video - so, please, if you think it may have been content from you (or content you recognize) please let me know!!! It's been months since I placed the order so I cannot find where I saw it from!!
But yes - going through the website and looking at all of the items available to purchase... I was so... intrigued!? Happy!? I just didn't really know some of these things existed, and as I was reading the description of them, so many I was thinking "WOW this would really help me/or would have helped younger me or WOW this would be perfect for someone I know --" and I'm just really glad they exist! I just think this type of thing is really exciting?
However!!! I tried to reign it in because I wanted to focus on using these items for ASMR specifically...!! I do plan on filming REALLY soon, some more videos where I go in depth on some of the items. I'm not even close to a professional; but maybe if anyone who is in the field recognizes any of these tools/techniques, I'd love to hear from you :D
So please enjoy!!! I keep the body tappers at my desk now, ha!

HI! OB/GYN here! We use those surgical brushes you have just to clean our hands. The side with the bristles is for cleaning your nails, and then the sponge side for your fingers/hands/forearms. For cleaning the patient's skin pre-op, there are actually different sponge sticks we use (chlorhexidine prep sticks) - for example, to be used on a patient's abdomen just prior to starting a surgery. Wonderful video!

I'm autistic and you are really helpful for me. Not only is ASMR helpful for when I get overwhelmed or stressed, but you particularly are perfect for me. I am always super interested in the content you create, and the way you talk like you're having a conversation and you smile and personality are so happy and comforting. You also always keep my mind and senses occupied and I don't get under stimulated because of the way you talk and the way you rambling gives my brain something to focus on as well! As a Occupational Therapy Assistant student, and a sensory seeker, who is about to graduate, I love being shown different places to get stuff like this. Also, I was just trained on the Wilbarger Protocol, and it is so interesting how this works with sensory processing, and the effects it has on the kids. It’s probably been one of my favorite things that I have learned… and performed.

I told my mom over the phone the other night that I watch ASMR. She doesn’t really understand it but was really cool about it. Hi Gibi! I've been watching you for years and I am a pediatric occupational therapist. I use the surgical brushes a lot through a brushing program for my kids who have sensory aversions to certain clothing textures and also for kids who are sensory seeking with tactile input as it can be calming for them. I also use a wide variety of fidget toys, especially with my kiddos with sensory processing disorder or ADHD and the kids love them. I also frequently use mouth chews for a lot of my kids with oral seeking behaviors who tend to mouth objects. So cool to see you incorporate a lot of therapy items in your videos that I use day to day in my career. Thank you for the great content as always!

And then there are people like myself who just don't like certain clothing /fabric in general XD I'm joking but I never knew there were any ways to avoid that at all for me it's just the fabric that bothers me entirely and not anything else so there's no way around it. Fidget toys are amazing because they certainly work I was a little skeptical of buying the random toys I've found on the internet but I think it really helps to relax and de-stress sometimes and it's great for when you are very hyper. I also didn't know about the mouth chewing toys I suppose they work better for little kids not so much adults unless it's an issue like bitting your nails for me I had never heard of chewable jewelry before so that's interesting I guess if anything can keep me from destroying my fingers sometimes I will certainly try it, cause I mean hand cream helps but it's not the same in part you get used to the behaviour too I don't really plan on stopping it someway unless I find a way around it but sometimes my fingers do bleed/hurt a lot, like right now depends how bad it is. I also love chewing on pretty much any other object and for some reason I've started chewing on random stuff now too. Broke a few things now so maybe that'd be very useful....

Gibi! I'm a licensed Occupational Therapist and thinks makes my heart so happy. These are ALL tools that an OT would use, depending on their clients/setting. I use some of the teethers with my clients (toddlers) all the time! And the brushes are definitely used for the Wilbarger protocol you talked about, so fascinating. There are all kinds of rules and patterns for that protocol for when you are brushing them on a person (what direction to go in, whether you can brush over bare skin or clothes, etc). So exciting to see little bits of our OT world out in an ASMR video!

Hey there I'm a US Army medic and in austere conditions we use those brushes for both our hands and our patients. Before certain minor surgical procedures we use them to get as close to sterile conditions as we can in the field, but most of ours are impregnated with Iodine. We also will use them in nuclear, biological, and chemical attacks to decontaminate patients before we can work on them. I hope you found that interesting. I love your content and it really helps to soothe my mind before sleep. Keep it up!

I have struggled with oral fixation my whole life (nails, clothes, pencils, & I can’t count how many Polly pocket shoes & pencil grips I have accidentally swallowed!) unfortunately it transferred over to eating as well & now I have alot more problems than before. My little sister also used to have a surgical scrub brush to help with her sensory processing issues & unfortunately it was lost to time & I had no hopes of getting a replacement for her! This shop is a godsend for my family & I am so thankful you’ve brought it to our attention! 😁💜

It's so nice to see that Gibi's amazing content helps a lot of people with mental health issues such as ADHD and Autism etc! And I can confirm as a person who suffers from them myself her videos are very calming, sleep inducing and overall just really nice! It is also good that it seems she enjoys making them too. Thank you for another amazing vid Gibi!

ASMR has become one of my go-to things to listen to. It's so much more than just for sleep for me, it's background noise and sounds for whatever I'm doing, from gaming to work to reading stuff online. Honestly, it rivals minecraft background music! and this video has the perfect mix of sounds and whispers that is so incredibly tingly, I love this one

Far out the biting items are a game changer, unlocked a core memory of before I realised I had sensory sensitivities(and also bad teeth and jaw pain since I was young) I would get in weird zones where all I wanted to do was chew on something to relieve stress and help my teeth. I’ve not had that need for many years but seeing those tools made me instantly want to chew them😂 So fascinating!
@Defirence
@Defirence Жыл бұрын
I relate to this do much, I had such badly impacted wisdom teeth before I got them surgically removed. I used to destroy pens and pencils, pen caps etc. Anything that could be chewed or bitten would be in my mouth in an instant lmao. It's reliving not having that pain or desire to chew/bite anymore though!!

The doodley-type microfiber is called Chenille Microfiber. Also the reason you tend to feel negatively toward microfiber is because cheap microfiber feels very rough and catches the skin on your hand, with a very unpleasant dry/scratchy sensation. What you need to do is feel some quality microfiber, it's magical.

I love this, especially the chewing objects!!! I've bought several things I've enjoyed from Stimtastic in the past; unfortunately they're on hiatus/closed it seems. But for anyone looking for chewing objects that might be more "socially acceptable", try looking around for chewable jewelry; there are lots of designs that can be passed off pretty easily as normal jewelry (just make sure you're buying from a reputable source that's using the proper materials, generally food-safe silicone)

Thank you for creating such a safe space for your viewers. I was diagnosed with ADHD late in life, and am self diagnosed Autistic, and no matter what type of ASMR you are doing, you have always been so good at welcoming people in… This video is like the icing on the cake- falling asleep to sounds made with sensory tools… I never would have imagined feeling so seen and included by a stranger on the internet. Your videos introduced me to ASMR, and I remember back then feeling so grateful to finally have the help I needed to sleep… but now- what I’m getting at is that your channel has ALWAYS been inclusive, but as you’ve grown as a person over the years and have opened up a tiny bit about your ADHD, your channel has grown with you. And I don’t think there are words for how much I appreciate it. I’m honestly so grateful for all the work that you do. And good lord, I hope all of that made sense! Lol

I made rainbow rice at home for my child this year! At 1 teaspoon of vinegar with drops of what ever color you want (I would use 4 drops). After that's mixed add the rice. Shake the bag until the color is evenly disbursed. Then dump onto a paper towel and smooth into a thin layer to dry overnight. Repeat for each color you want and then combined in a zip lock bag the next morning. 🤷‍♀️

VIDEO IDEA✨ Another video idea i would think would be something interesting to see is one of your characters such as grim working a new job that they may necessarily not fit / choose (basically and opposite) as i think it would be really cool how Youd perceive a charter in that situation. (For an example: grim currently works in a magical shop in a small town and as a new job he could be working in something more modernised such as a hotel worker in the city) i would love to see this and i hope i can inspire you !

The Surgical Brushes were definitely my favorite, I already liked them a lot in the recent Layered Sounds video, so it was nice to hear them again so soon in this one Gibi, especially the part where you put them together, and then also when you did a little Invisible Triggers part with them 😌. The Calming Body Tappers, Microfiber Cloth and Heat Sensitive Foam Pad were also really good, the Pad looked so cool. Also, I love the idea you had of pouring the Rainbow Rice on a microphone in a possible future video, it would probably sound amazing, just like the ideas of how to use the Chewing Objects in many different ways you had while using them. So yeah, I'm really happy you're planning on making more videos with these soon 😊.
