I can understand feeling a bit embarrassed about calling for an ambulance at a time like this, it potentially puts a lot of eyes on you while youre in a vulnerable position, but just know the people showing up are there to help you not judge you. Think if you were to see an ambulance show up to your neighbors house your first thought wouldn't be 'omg how embarrassing for them' its more along the lines of "oh I hope they are ok!" theres nothing to be embarrassed about!
@FabledFawnASMR2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, that was really kind of you to say❤️ I was insecure about the severity of my pain (not knowing at the time if it was severe or if I was being overdramatic) I worried that I would call for help & the doctors would treat me as if I was being overdramatic and then I’d be really embarrassed by that🥲 in hindsight it was justified, I just didn’t know then! The neighbor POV is a good point though, thank you❤️❤️

Fellow chronic migraine sufferer here. I've passed out from them and experienced that same confusion. Glad to hear you're doing better. Only thing that's ever worked for me is botox injections every 3 months. It treats migraines for some reason. Talk to a neurologist about it if you can.

It is refreshing to hear someone else talk about how bad the hospitals are. I'm going through a similar sorta situation where I have a chronic breathing problem that came out of nowhere and the hospital hasn't been able to figure out what's going on and it feels like it's all on me to figure it out. My mind has exhausted itself running laps around the problem, trying to figure out what can possibly be the cause. So I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you for being open and honest with us, it means a lot to me, and I hope you get better soon.

From a medic/med student: never ever be afraid to call an ambulance if you're experiencing any medical emergency that's worrying you. I will be honest and say I don't know a lot about the ambulance system in the US, but where I'm from, we're happy to respond and just give medical advice as well. We never judge people because they call an ambulance, unless they're doing it out of ill will. I myself know the feeling of being embarrassed to seek help very well - I almost died from appendicitis when I didn't want to waste the hospital's time! Worrying yourself sick is also an emergency! This isn't meant to make you feel bad because you didn't call an ambulance, I'm just trying to share the point of view we have as medics. At the end of the day, if I can make another person feel safe and heard, I'm happy. I'm really glad you're doing better and I hope your recovery from the long term effects is quick!

Thank you❤️ I appreciate the kind words, truly! I helps to know from a medics perspective that I wouldn’t be judged, and I just worry myself😂

I used to get debilitating migraines that would put me out for days. My back and neck would get so tight and sore which would lead to a couple hour migraine that would leave me drained for days. Towards the end of last year I quit sugar as best I could (processed sugar, natural sugar seems fine) and my back/neck tension and migraines have completely vanished. Sugar is a highly inflammatory substance which seems to have been the cause of my migraines. Long story short you should try to minimize sugar, at least during your recovery and see if that helps at all. I hope all is back to normal soon, keep staying strong!

oh my gosh, this sounds EXACTLY what i dealt with, except I also experienced "brain on fire" syndrome and it felt like fluid was moving around IN my brain. I didnt get antibiotics until 3 or 4 days into my sickness, and ive never felt the same since. Its been 11 months since then. I had chronic migraines after that until i went to a nose specialist last month. they asked what I took for my allergies. Allergies? I never had allergies, and never needed to take daily medications for anything long term ever. so I started taking a daily Claritin and my migraines are gone. Theres been a ton more oddity and detail to my story but that is the long and short of it. Im sorry you had to go through that with that, and thanks for giving me some insight on what I mightve had!

you have that free tricare. I went to the ER for everything when I was active. you are lucky the fever broke.
@FabledFawnASMR2 жыл бұрын
Yes but unfortunately the free hospital was very neglectful and just wanted to get me out quickly instead of check me thoroughly :( it’s a lot of pros and cons, but having Tricare insurance is a blessing I definitely don’t want to understate how thankful I am for that!!! just the hospital itself is very neglectful, I’ve had 2 major issues they misdiagnosed me with which put me at major risk
@nicoler61222 жыл бұрын
It’s insane to me that they wouldn’t suggest testing you for that.. I’ve had migraines put me in the hospital twice and BOTH times the doctors wanted to test for meningitis with a lumbar puncture (this was 10 years ago). I couldn’t even turn my head without being in excruciating pain and I honestly didn’t know if I could handle the test. They tried dilaudid first and it did take care of it, so I got lucky. But the fact that they didn’t even suggest it to you is frustrating :/ Side note, I haven’t had a serious migraine since starting an antidepressant. Not sure if they’re connected 🤔 Glad you’re feeling better ☺️
@FabledFawnASMR2 жыл бұрын
Would you mind sharing which antidepressant helped? If not that’s ok! I’m going to talk to my doctor about antidepressants soon and may look into that!

Let me guess, were you at the medical on the base your husband is stationed at? If so makes sense because the doctors at the medical centers in the military provide the bare minimum and are awful all around
@FabledFawnASMR2 жыл бұрын
Yes😂 on base hospitals are baddddd, no shade bc it is free and I appreciate that especially when I’m a spouse, so it truly is a privilege to have access to free care, but they have misdiagnosed me twice with two different severe medical issues that could’ve been prevented if they caught it, this being one of them/: they just want you discharged and sent home as soon as possible they don’t seem to really care to actually help you
@jonnyrose12882 жыл бұрын
@@FabledFawnASMR exactly. I am a marine and I’ve been let down time and time again by the medical on base. I have theorized that military doctors in their training are literally trained to provide the bare minimum unless they have no other choice lol. I would suggest to try and start getting referrals to off base doctors. When I need to see a doctor for something important I just go into the medical on base and ask to get a referral off base
