I'm happy you notice. It's because I was finally able (through the support of my patrons) to rent a little room far out in the countryside. There is no sound at all at night and so I can afford to make the microphones extremely sensitive. Also the acoustics of the room are very good which allows me to use some serious tube compression on the signal, boosting all the most delicious frequencies. It should just get better from here on. I'm using some really over-the-top mics (read description if you are interested) and basically the sky is the limit in terms of sound quality now.

I think it's great that you're teaching the fried liver to newer players, for multiple reasons. First off, it's a nice opening trap for people in the lower levels. Second, it shows that it's possible to break the rules if you have a good reason (the fork), and third, it's a tactical pattern that happens all the time in games. This channel is amazing and I can tell that the mic is better too lol.

Easily one of my most favourite channels by far! Your voice is so soothing and the videos are both incredibly informative and satisfying to watch. You're one of the reasons why I'm getting back into playing chess 😄 If you're open to some ideas for more tingles, I have a few. Fluttering your fingers close to the mics is a good way to pepper in extra sounds during your introduction or explanations. Shifting or pivoting the pieces in place, since the felt material underneath them shuffling against the board sounds amazing. Using your nails to tap or lightly run along the wood gives a nice contrast with the low, muted hum of your fingerpads. And testing out some binaural qualities, like whispering from mic to mic or panning, is fun and teasing. Nevertheless, what you're already doing is incredible and I adore your style of asmr. I wish you continued happiness and success and will continue to tune in to you loyally.

hey, i hope you continue doing this specific stuff about openings. one thing i can never wrap around my head in chess improvement is, yes, you can improve your middlegame with tactics and endgame by learning the principles (rook-file pawns, opposition, triangulation, mating patterns, etc), but i always found openings to be difficult. do i stick to rote memorization? how do i find the fundamentals that's transferable from one opening to another? (aside from the basic control-the-center tip) it's until a teacher of mine (not chess) advised me to look into chess opening themes that i saw some way to improve. these video series are perfect for me. not too heavy on dumping variations on my newbie ass like those other chess opening videos.
@ASMRChess3 жыл бұрын
a good tip is to go over your games with a focus on the opening. If you play on chess.com they have a feature where you can get computer-assisted analysis to help you see where you made mistakes. First step is to find the move that was a mistake. The second step is to understand WHY it was a mistake. What you do here is to analyze the position with the computer and try out different moves like "why can't I capture this knight? Oh because my queen hangs. Why does it want me to push this pawn? Oh because it opens up the bishop." That is how I learned the elephant trap in the queen's gambit (if you watch my video on chess opening tricks you can see it - it is the one where black tries to hold on to the pawn in the queen's gambit accepted). I knew that it was a legit opening to play 1. d4 and then 2. c4 - but every time my opponent would just capture my pawn on c4 and play b5 to protect their pawn. So I analyzed with the computer and even though it took some time I finally understood the tactical pattern that punishes black for this.

Thank you for another wonderful video. In honor of Greco and the Italian game I’d like to share something with you: It’s been making me crazy that all chess experts can say “en passant”, most can say “zugzwang”, but almost none can say “fianchetto”. You are obviously a brilliant, multilingual guy so it will take you two seconds to master these rules of Italian pronunciation: 1. An i following a consonant and preceding a vowel does not get its own syllable, but is more like a y in English . So “fianchetto” becomes “fyan KET to. After a g, the i changes the g from “go” to “joe”, so we get Joe -a-keeno Greco. 2. As you’ve probably already deduced, “ch” is always pronounced as k. (By the way, your English is better than many Americans’, and I say that as a recovering American.)

At 14:13, cant White play Qg3? if the knight captures the rook, Qe5 is mate. If black doesn't capture the rook, re8 wins the queen
@ASMRChess3 жыл бұрын
good question! No Qg3 would be a mistake. Black plays Kc7 and escapes to c8. The main feature of this position is the position of black's king. If black manages to get to safety all of white's advantage disappears. Remember that white has sacrificed material to get the king exposed. If the king is no longer exposed white will lose their compensation.
@oivindification3 жыл бұрын
Right. But doesn't Kc7 lose the queen? That seems like some hefty compensation. I guess black doesn't have to play Kc7, and try and trade the queens or something? 🤔
