Canonically, Pepe’s origins are unclear. What we do know is that Pepe is confirmed to be Pepe Jr.’s father, meaning it’s unlikely that they originated from such drastically different parts of the world (despite their clear differences in visual appearance, i.e. difference in colouration). I completely Agree that we need more lore dumps to better understand Pepe and Pepe Jr. and their respective backstories. Pepe Jr. reigns supreme.
