I think the reason why your videos appeal so much to people suffering from depression is that we have something gnawing away at our insides that we're constantly trying to soothe, and these videos provide that soothing. It's like having a back injury or an infected wound, you just ache and ache and ache, and your mind scurries around in a panic trying to find something that will stop it. Some people turn to alcohol or drugs, some people sleep, some people isolate themselves, some people act out. And some people look for ways to quiet those howling mouths deep inside, by playing ambient sounds that bring relief. These videos do that for me. I can see they do it for a lot of people.

Anxiety is more my personal demon, but I feel much the same way. Somehow things like this make us able to finally be still where we can't on our own. You don't have to do anything in this space, and that is a much needed relief.

Hello everyone! For me this is a very emotional piece because Shell Cottage always reminds me of the love and pain that come along our journey. I'm dedicating this video to Oct 10th, 2017 World Mental Health Day promoting mental health awareness. If you have a story fighting mental health issues please share! I've gotten a lot of comments from viewers about struggling with anxiety, insomnia or depression, and I just want you to know that you are so strong, brave and definitely not alone. You all inspire me to make better videos and become more grateful and humble, so thank you. xo Claire

Okay, here goes: Hogwarts has always been home. I grew up with a Narcoleptic mother; she was always asleep, so maybe that's why I always day-dreamed. My father decided he had better things to do before I was born. I didn't really have a home. Mom was there but she was never awake. I grew up alone. I grew up at Hogwarts. I'm an adult now and I still don't know what it's like to feel like I belong somewhere. I still seek the safety of Gryffindor Tower and the warmth of the grounds in the spring. The only connotation "Home" has for me is Hogwarts. I fight depression, anxiety, *and* insomnia every day. I actively go to therapy to learn the skills that my mother never could teach me, because she never had the ability to learn. I do, so I'm honored to inherit her demons. But it's hard. Your videos allow me to spend my nights in the only place I've ever felt like I belonged. I love you for that.

Hi Aaron, thank you so much for sharing your story. I am so proud of you for going to therapy and getting treatment. You belong right here, in this community and for sure Hogwarts! Harry Potter universe has been my escape for years and years, so you are not alone! I hope you get better and better everyday, and don't stop fighting! xo

Dear Aaron, I grew up with a neurotic mother plus she is a control freak. My dad was there but he never really existed, he was totally suppressed by his spouse and was enjoying it; he still does up to this day :( I had to escape to other worlds I could reach when reality was too harsh on me. I am going to therapy for a decade now for the same reasons as you, plus to heal the wounds she opened, many on purpose, too. It is a long and hard journey but believe me every step is worth it. Believe yourself and keep it up!

In this one, I sit at the table sipping chamomile tea, listening to Fleur chatter. She's heavily pregnant and talks a lot when she's nervous, and she's always nervous and anxious these days - not sure when she will hear news from her mother and father, her little sister, not sure if Bill will come back when he leaves, not sure if she will have to stay in this cottage forever. It's so lovely, but... still. Not what she envisioned. And she reminds herself that she is strong and loyal and Delacours most certainly do not complain. And she's quiet as she bustles around the stove, making me bouillabaisse. I have tried to remind her she's pregnant and she should sit, to let me help, let me help cook or clean, but a deep blue glare quickly silences me and I'm the one sitting back down. I'm floating free of time and space now, in the present, in the past, in reality, in this fantasy. And I want to tell her not to worry. She will survive this war, her Bill will become a war hero, her child will be born healthy and beautiful and strawberry blonde, even lovelier than her, though it seems impossible staring at her clear beauty. I want to tell her she will have even more children, the war will pass, her love will grow, she will be okay. But this time and dimension travel forbids this, and I stay silent, press my lips together, nod my head and she happily recalls another memory of her childhood in the French countryside, and I hastily wipe away a few tears, careful to hide them from her. Thank you, ASMR Rooms. You transport me to another world.

I don't know if that makes any sense, but to me, this place feels very lonely and cold like it has been abandoned or something but at the same time sooo cozy and heartwarming because of the memories in my head of all those characters spending time together there. How is that even possible? It brings back so many memories from the books and movies. Ah, the feels 😩 Again, thank you so so much.💗✨⚡️

I think it's because the house may not be where they wanted to be, compare to the old lively home of Weasley's. It felt like a hideout, it was made a secluded hideout from all the horrible things happening outside. But it is also a place for comfort, for rest, and for hope. Things may look grey but it's for a warmer tomorrow that they gather here together, the living and the passed.
@AMiceMarina6 жыл бұрын
Perhaps, at first glance, the seemingly cold weather, the cool sea, and the simple cottage with its cold stone and apparent abandoned facade with no inhabitant(s), does give the feeling of loneliness and "cold". Yet, once inside, the person is greeted with a warm, roaring fireplace, freshly made bread, hot mugs of steaming hot tea/coffee/chocolate, and sounds of a welcoming entity ready to sit you down to warming beverage and slice of bread with tummy-warming butter. You are both welcomed here, enveloped, and protected. Perhaps you simply need an affirmation that you are welcome, and that nothing will harm you here.

I appreciate your videos so much. I struggle with social anxiety and depression. Im living with my parents again I've fallen on hard times im homeless i lost my apartment due to my social anxiety its very difficult to hold on a job and find a job. My mom's rules are go to college or find a job. I struggle to do either. I picked college. Im getting my certificate in Early Childhood Development. Its a struggle im so stressed and tired after im done with studying and working on future projects i just cry. Today my mom told me to finish out this semester and get a job or go back to living in my car. It's not that i don't want to finish school but my anxiety,fear, and depression keep me from achieving anything. I'm in a dilemma i don't want to live in my car and im afraid of people of life....

Quality white noise is hard to find, but a necessity when you live in a noisy household. A lot of these videos are pretty lazy collections of fire and water (and I should know; I've made a few of them myself back in the day). Yours is perfect. It is approaching the ambience that one could typically only get by recording real audio for hours on end. Instant subscribe from me.
