In South Africa snails on a restaurant menu is named Escargo. We usually get between 6 to 12, depending if it is a starter or main meal.

The crack in the wooden cat can indicate that it is quite old. Wood that have been treated (oils and such) and has a crack, are usually past 20 years of age.

In the United States we don’t have snail plates but we have deviled egg plates very similar to that.

Jen, you said in the vlog video you didn't buy any ducks 😂😂😂 Those are great ducks though! Also the wooden cat makes SUCH great sounds, a no-talking video with it would be great. As for snails, in the United States we actually use the French escargot to refer to them as food! But you really only see it at fancy or French restaurants. But we'd probably call it an escargot plate - People don't really have those at home but they would be served in a restaurant on that kind of plate.
