Your marketing background has got to be so helpful too when considering sponsorships. Your whole part on the ambassador programs and how mentioning a product one time in a video for a coupon code isn’t going to work unless you expose your audience to it a lot is so true, I didn’t even think of that

The whole “you should be so grateful for a free product” is such BS, and it’s also a pet peeve of mine when creators will say “the company was soooo sweet and kind to gift me this!” No. It was not kind, it is a business transaction and you’re advertising for them! This is so interesting, and I feel this to my core! I work for a Disney affiliated bath and body company, and I can tell you it goes both ways. Getting DMs and emails from creators that only say “Love your stuff, wanna collab!? :)” is SO disheartening. A well worded, thoughtful email goes a long way my friends.

Noo for my summer job last year I worked for a small jewelry company and to gain more boutiques in different cities to sell their stuff they made me research boutiques and then write a generalized email where I only switched out the cities and put all the boutiques as bcc. They made me put themselves as the recipient 🤷🏼‍♀️ no wonder the emails were unsuccessful haha 😂

Tbh Julia, I would totally be fine with it if you did put ads in your videos. For example, 1-2 videos per month that had ads and were certain types of content that people normally watch and dont fall asleep to (e.g. story-times, try-on hauls). Ask your subscribers! I honestly feel like there may be others who would welcome occasional ad vids. I wish you were able to get compensated fully for the work you put in but I do understand others wanting to relax ad-free sometimes. Hopefully you’ll be able to find a balance ♥️

So there is no way to be 100% sure of the return on investment of any marketing venture.. and that also certainly is not the creator’s problem. That’s why the company should hire good employees to do research on who they should gift and who the product most closely aligns with

Why wouldn’t you take 150.00 for a video? This is a real question. The ad revenue for a video can’t be that high. Obviously the one you read was a scam Corp but if it was legit why not?

So ad revenue for me on videos will usually go to $150 but correct not always. That’s not really relevant though - $150 for a sponsorship just isn’t a fair rate. It’s just kind of insulting tbh .. there are also algorithms you can Google and come to a rate based on average video views etc. For me, $150 is not worth my time and even more than that, the principle of it being such a low ball offer just makes me angry
