TWIN STORY: My people, the Yoruba (west africa), have one of if not the highest rate of twin births in the world. There is an entire lore surrounding twins in Yoruba culture. The first born twin is named Taiwo (meaning taste the world) the second is called Kehinde (meaning arrives last). They used to say that Kehinde sends out Taiwo to determine if the world is suitable, because of this some would say that Kehinde is actually older than Taiwo because only an elder sends the younger on an errand. There are also names for the kids born after twins Idowu (first born after twins or triplet), Alaba (second born after twins or the quadruplet) and Idogbe (third born after twins or quintuplet). My grandmother gave birth to three sets of twins consecutively but my mom was not one lol.
