You have to run via “Azure Edge” docker image (ARM chip) or MSSQL docker image (Intel chip). Instead of SMSS use Azure Data Studio to execute queries.

Of course. When using C# or even the whole .NET eco-system, visual studio is actually way better than VSCode. In fact, using Visual Studio will save you some extra steps ! ;)

VSC is lightweight and cross platform so everybody can jump in without learning curve of full blown IDE. A huge portion of my channel are JS/Java devs switching over and VS is a brutal learning curve. Also JS/Java devs tend to be college/university students with Macs.
