00:00:00 In this section, the speaker, a chemical process engineer, discusses his experience with the Aspen HYSYS Expert User Certification exam. He mentions that after registering for the exam, it takes about two to three working days to receive a confirmation email from Aspen Tech. The exam is conducted through a meeting room on Cisco Webex, and the speaker advises testing all the links provided in the email. He emphasizes the importance of a good internet connection since the transmission of data between Aspen HYSYS and the computer depends on it. The exam is based on Aspen HYSYS version 11, with the main difference being additional options for preliminary line sizing. Overall, the speaker suggests that transitioning from version 10 to version 11 should not be an issue for users. 00:05:00 In this section, the speaker discusses the format and content of the Aspen HYSYS Expert User Certification exam. The exam is multiple-choice and tests your knowledge and application of Aspen HYSYS. It includes lab questions where you will need to compare your process simulation results to find the correct answer. Some questions are conceptual and may require referring to the Aspen HYSYS Helper for assistance. The exam consists of questions with different weights, and the final result is calculated based on the average of correctly answered questions. The certification focuses on industry applications, specifically in column design, but you also have the option to choose between upstream process or safety analysis as the third part of the exam. 00:10:00 In this section, the speaker discusses the kinds of questions and tasks that are asked during the Aspen HYSYS Expert User Certification exam. They mention that the exam is focused on evaluating if the test taker is able to adjust and evaluate an existing process simulation rather than building one from scratch. Some examples of tasks include analyzing the effects of adding MD to a simulation, evaluating the impact of varying flow and conditions on dehydration, and determining the appropriate size of packing to reduce pressure drop in a column. The speaker emphasizes that while it may take some time for first-time test takers to become familiar with the exam format, it is a friendly exam and being familiar with the ICARUS and ICERAS software will be beneficial. 00:15:00 In this section, the speaker discusses some of the processes that are evaluated in the Aspen HYSYS Expert User Certification. They highlight the importance of understanding processes like super recovery and saw water processes. They also mention the challenges they faced during the exam, such as the time-consuming nature of certain tasks and technical issues with the software. The speaker advises not to get stressed or distracted during the exam and emphasizes that it evaluates preparedness rather than measuring one's overall abilities. They recommend using the study guide provided by Aspen Tech as a good reference to prepare for the certification exam. 00:20:00 In this section, the speaker discusses the format of the Aspen HYSYS Expert User Certification exam. They mention that the exam consists of multiple-choice questions and that it focuses on process simulation and the results of the simulation. The speaker emphasizes that the exam does not require building a process simulation from scratch, as it is already provided by Aspen Tech. They also mention the need to add a software recovery unit to the existing simulation, but templates are available for this. The speaker advises keeping the webinar open during the exam and not refreshing the virtual environment page. They highlight that assistance is available through private messaging with the examiner. The main topics covered in the exam are gas sweetening and the removal of CO2 and H2S. The speaker suggests that being familiar with process simulation and having good time management skills are important for success in the exam. 00:25:00 In this section, the speaker discusses the topics that are evaluated in the Aspen HYSYS Expert User Certification exam. They mention that knowledge of gas dehydration, dew point, temperature effects on solvents, and behavior of the dew point with changes in flow are important. The speaker also mentions that case analysis and super recovery processes are included in the exam, and they provide additional resources on their KZbin channel for those topics. They further explain that the exam includes questions on acid gas, dehydration, super recovery, and sour gas, and mention that there are options to choose between upstream applications and safety analysis. They highlight that for upstream applications, knowledge of pipes, pressure drop, heat transfer calculations, and line sizing is important. They also clarify that line sizing and pipe sizing are the same concepts. Finally, they mention the need to understand hydraulics, distinguish between different segments in Aspen HYSYS, and configure flowsheet constraints. 00:30:00 In this section, the speaker discusses the workflow and steps required to create and configure a Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) in Aspen HYSYS for safety analysis. They mention that the safety analysis feature is accessed through the simulation environment submenu. Once in the safety analysis section, changes cannot be made to the process simulation or streams. The speaker also mentions that there are different scenarios available, such as fire scenarios and column scenarios, and specific questions related to these scenarios must be answered. They emphasize that all the information needed for the certification exam is available in the questions provided, and they offer a discount coupon for the certification. Additionally, they mention that they will provide specific videos for members of their training program to help them prepare for the certification exam. 00:35:00 In this section, the speaker discusses different ways to learn Aspen HYSYS, including free resources like KZbin videos and the Chemical Engineering Guide. They also mention the availability of books and the possibility of finding a training program with step-by-step guidance. The speaker emphasizes their willingness to share free materials through their Telegram channel and mentions exclusive materials for members of their training program. They conclude by expressing gratitude for the viewers' attention and promising a future video.

I want to get both certifications : Aspen HYSYS Certified User and Aspen HYSYS Certified expert user. 1. Where should I prepare from? 2. Are there any mock exams also to prepare? 3. Is the exam timing very tight?
@jefersoncostaengineer Жыл бұрын
Hi, To get expert exam you need first to pass user level. You can start with my videos available on KZbin. Other material available on internet. My Inprocess Booster students have exclusive classes for Aspentech exam. How difficult is the exam depends on student preparation. You will have 4h to complete the exam.
