Why are they always run on electric?

There are only a few examples of chairlifts out there that run only on diesel, and they are generally lifts that very remote and hard to run electric lines to. Cliff Chair and the T-Bar at Big White come to mind with this. And while these lifts' diesel drives can hold a lot of fuel, the fuel can be pretty pricey.

Not sure why the T-Bar at Big White runs on deisel, but Cliff Chair is at the far end of a bowl, no electric lines out there. I go to Big White every year (except this year, of course) so I can film both T-Bar and Cliff.
