Bruh, its pretty much same for almost all cars (except SLK SE). You first MAX out Top Speed and Nitro (1), and if you need more speed (look at your rank on the top right to see if you have the minimum rank to complete the race) you start PROING Tires and Drivetrain (2). If you still cannot win, start upgrading acceleration to MAX (3)progressively. If MAX acceleration is STILL not enough to beat the AI, start PROing the exhaust and suspension. Btw, you need a MAX PRO upgrade of 5505 2050 to beat the Ultimate AI in the Mazda RX8 R&D.
