Would bags of cold patch work instead of hot?
@DOITALLSEALING27 күн бұрын
Yes they would except cold patch takes much longer to cure.

I've got a depression the size of a moon cratee. Can't find someone to just do that spot. They will only do the whole driveway.

It's harder now to find smaller repair guys doing this. Thanks For Watching!

Will this work for depression from tires of a car that didn't move for a year or so? Glad I found your channel!!
@DOITALLSEALING4 жыл бұрын
This will absolutely work for tire depressions we do those all the time! Thanks for watching!

How do you know how much asphalt to loosely install before compaction, to insure its smooth with the existing/surrounding asphalt? In other words, do you install the asphalt .5" or 1" higher than the surrounding existing asphalt, then compact?
@craig12545 жыл бұрын
Also, how long do you typically wait after final compaction to allow traffic back onto the repaired area?
@DOITALLSEALING5 жыл бұрын
That is a good question and would make a great video! That is where experience definitely comes into play. However, how it works is simple. If your patch area is very deep you have to go much higher from the edges. Example would be if you were installing 3-4 inches thick you would need to go at least 1/2" higher than the edges. If you were installing asphalt and it was about 2" thick then 1/4" or slightly more would be perfect. It can get more technical than that as well like what asphalt mix you are using HL3, HL8, Super Pave 12.5, 8.5mm.

If its a roadway or patch area cars have to drive over than I try to hold them off at least 1-2 hours before. Just as long as they are not turning the tires on the patch area or parking on top of it.

Andy in orlando just starting in the ashphalt sealing bus. Love your informative videos.

How much did you charge for that patch. And question im starting a paving. Bussiness this my first year. How did you or do you. Go about getting new clients. Asphalt here in ct is 85$ a ton. If that helps.. for first vehicle what do you recommend 6 wheel dump or a low boy(3500) of some type witj a dump typically 4 ton capacity

Love your work! Question though....I was told you need to use 2SAC to make sure repair doesn't sink again if compacted dirt under the asphalt repair wasn't compacted enough. What is 2SAC??
@sk1llet823 жыл бұрын
Asphalt doesn't last forever regardless, I've never heard of 2sac. Then again thats why I'm here to learn.
@sk1llet823 жыл бұрын
Typically lay the Asphalt an inch higher then the old so when It does settle there's plenty room to allow it.
