Asplundh and Davey Tree have used these Chuck & Duck/Whisper Chippers over the years. Yeah you might see some newer Davey Tree and newer Asplundh trucks use stronger chippers like Vermeer & Bandit. The Altec still make two models that are the Chuck & Duck/Whisper Chipper models and they do make other stronger models that Vermeer & Bandit makes.

This type of chipper is great for small brush like this. A self-feeding chipper is slower so you'd have guys standing around waiting for brush to feed. All things considered I still prefer a self-feeder. They have this one set up pretty good though with the feed table up high. They're far safer that way. Plus this one has the "V" shaped table. That's a plus.

I love the sound of the whisper chipper too. Do you know if there are any in southern Wisconsin being used?
