I don’t know how much your milk supply is but you should totally look into donating some milk to a milk bank! They use the milk for NICU babies to help build immunity and help them grow 🥰

A blanket from home is my #1 favorite thing I brought to the hospital! So comforting and cozy!! Loved snuggling up with my baby in it 💖

I didn’t pack much, which ended working out well since I literally only used my blanket & pillow, toothbrush/toothpaste, brush, deodorant, shower stuff, face wash, nursing bra, & our going home outfits.

I was due to have my baby at the end of August also, and he ended up coming 5 weeks early. I had a c-section with him, and he ended up staying in the NICU for two weeks. I had the grey Target pajamas in my bag as well and they were such a godsend. The buttons were great for breastfeeding, and the shorts were high and cozy which covered my scar. It makes you feel so much more human to walk to the NICU in your own clothes vs a hospital gown, too.

Girl you’re making me not so scared of this birth that much, I was so scared because this is my first lil nugget but I watched your labor vlogs and they really comforted me. Thank u❤️

Also hospital floors are more clean than hotel floors. They have multiple process steps in cleaning each room between patients that hotels do not so shoes for showering is unnecessary.

Omg. I wore a bralette when I was in labor and after I got the epidural it was so uncomfortable. I told the nurses they could just cut it off of me 😂. They ended up helping me take it off, they wouldn’t cut it off even though I kept telling them too.

Just to give you some peace in mind about walking in the bathroom with bare feet, the hospital should do a routine clean of every room, especially the bathroom, after every patient is discharged to avoid illnesses that the next patient might get in that same room from anything left over from the previous patient. If your hospital does not do this, I'd go to a different hospital next time...

The main reason why it’s good to bring a robe or pjs to the hospital is of your baby goes to NICU. My boys did & I had to walk back and forth all the time. So it was nice to have my personal gown. (:

Hi Aspyn! Could you do a "What they don't tell you about pregnancy and birth" video? For some people it might be TMI but I'm sooo interested in what "the downstairs area" feels like after birth and if it is very painful and what you can do etc. I love how open you are about giving birth and pregnancy so I'd LOVE a video about it ! xx

I wanted to point out, I used to be a postpartum aide (CNA) and a lot of us used to carry small safety scissors so we could cut off the mesh panties making them easier to take off during pad changes (we'd cut them at both hip side seams), so when someone wears their own they are making things a little more difficult if the aide was planning to cut the underpants off at the side seams. Not all aides do that but another aide taught me and that was super helpful. Personally, I didn't mind wearing the hospital mesh panties, I'd rather wear those and throw them away than ruin ones I've bought.... no matter what your lady bits are a war zone so having comfy panties isn't really important...you just had a baby things aren't fun down below lol...

I know you didn't really use your slippers but I would recommend to pack them. Both my labours were really long and I was in hospital for at least a day before both my girls were born! I walked my hospital flat trying to get labour going and they were a lifesaver! Also I didn't get many afterpains after my first child but they were so bad after my second and they get worse after each baby! So thank you for recommending the afterease, I might try it next time ❤

I am due with my 4th by soon and what we do (well my Husband) is that he brings lysol wipes and sanitizer cleaners and as soon as we get to our room he goes crazy. I know they clean and such but if I wanna be barefoot then I wanna know its perfectly clean because there is a part of labor where I am not myself and have laid on the bathroom floor naked and was so happy we knew it was sweeped, cleaned and sanitized.

Be careful with baby socks if you wash them check inside and make sure hair isn’t caught in the sock. Hair can cut of blood supply to the toes of the baby if it gets caught around them.

I would double check on if slippers are "needed" or not. My hospital doesn't allow patients to walk around (even in your room) without something on your feet as it is a liability for slipping, so check with your hospital.
