No Arabs brought down Assad. Assad has no income except for Russia and Hezbollah. IDF destroyed Hezbollah and Ukraine depleted Russia so it had to pull its troops and equipment out of Syria. Russia just lost its only military port on the Mediterranean on the south side of the Strait of Bosporus. Hezbollah fighters with Iranian shipments by air and Russian forces kept Assad alive. After defeating Hezbollah in Lebanon, the final blow to Assad was IDF attacks directly on Hezbollah in Syria.

What happened in Syria will have very little effect in Iran. This bizarre idea that the fall of Assad means political instability in Iran is not based on any factual or logical considerations. The Iranian regime is a lot more resilient and stable than the wishful thinking from Washington Neo-cons admits. They really show that they do not know or understand much about Iran. Some countries are prone to instability that malicious foreign powers can exploit. This mostly originates from demographic divisions of ethnicity and or religion. Iran is pretty solid from this perspective. Syria was a highly vulnerable society and a soft target. The Alawites akin to the Shia (15% of the population) ruled over Sunnis (75%) who mostly don't like them very much. Syria was also divided between Kurds and Arabs, another fault-line the US unashamedly worked on, and there are big minorities like the Druzes (pagans to HTS), Christians etc. Washington only really has a few political 'weapons' against Iran: 1) Economic warfare - cutting off Iran's oil exports. This has been tried with much less success than anticipated. It should be considered that despite the fact that Iran was one of the biggest oil exporters in the world it still got about 50% of its export earnings from non-fossil fuel trades. It has quite a diversified economy. 2) The Kurdish minority. This is probably the most potent weapon the west can exploit against Iran. This has clearly been tried. The big unrest and demonstrations reported in western media as a 'popular uprising of the Iranian people', were as was hidden from the public in the west, mostly disaffected Kurds. Kurds only make up about 10% of the population, probably quite a bit less than the critical mass needed to destabilise a political system, which I personally rate as happening somewhere above 15%. They also tend to be concentrated in certain areas. 3) MEK - do me a favour! The most they could do is carry out terrorism campaigns. They have ZERO popularity in Iran. You need to face up to the fact that although you do not regard Iran as a democracy, in many ways it is a very democratic country when compared with the other states in the region. They have a different kind of democracy. a constitutional parliamentary theocracy. Just how here in the UK we cannot get rid of the King, so the Iranians can't get rid of the Supreme religious leader. The parties in parliament change as do the PM and President. The socially very conservative nature of the regime may be abhorrent to the upper middle classes in Iran who are westernised and liberal, but they are a social minority. As in most countries the majority of ordinary working class people are quite conservative and their religion is important to them. It is really something like a populist government which rarely exists in western democracy, where elites largely overrule the views of the masses on many issues such as immigration, law and order, etc.
