Assam Rifles comes under the Home Ministry and Defence Ministry also....better to say it has dual command, Pay and allowance given as per Home Ministry rules and regulations, Operations such as CI and Civic activities, Law& Order, Border Guarding as per Defence Ministery. Officers in Assam Rifles come from different Regiments and wings . AR also have AR cadre Officers.

So it has nothing to do with your hypothesis of so-called "Undivided Assam" , even the present day Assam was never a unified territory cause it had Chachar, Koch Rajbongshi, Jantia , Ahom kingdom and various Tribal Chief areas. The ethnic Cleansing of Assamese done by the so-called Assam Rifles in Tinsukia, Golaghat and its adjourning districts have you forgotten that pathetic eh!. Sir aapko thoda correct karna chahunga yaha. Assam rifles का operational control, duties, training पुरी तरह आर्मी यानी mod के पास है। जबकि इसकी sallary and other expenses MHA के अधीन है। Army order 1984 ke according hamare country mein only single paramilitary force hai assam rifles.baki sub CAPF hai. Hum in subko normal way mein paramilitary bol dete hai But according to army order Assam rifles only paramilitary force. लेफ्टिनेंट से लेकर DG तक इसमें सारे officers Indian army से deputation पर आते हैं। इसका रैंक system एकदम आर्मी के जैसा है रायफलमेन( GD person )नायक , हवलदार, सुबेदार , sm । इसमें बीच में एक एकदम अलग पोस्ट और होती है वारंट अफसर नाम से। Assistant commandant aur CPO SI ki jo post aati hai aap usko dekhna usme Assam rifles ka naam nahi hota hai. Aur jo SSC GD ki vacancy aati hai uske notification mein bhi upar clear likha hota hai Recruitment for constable (GD) in capfs and rifleman (gd) in Assam rifles. पुरे देश में एकमात्र govt organisation hai jo dual control में फंसा हुआ है। इसके लिए दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट में अभी केस चल रहा है। जनवरी महीने में उसकी hearing होना है। Court पहले भी सरकार को इसे एक मंत्रालय के अधीन लाने के लिए CCS को निर्देश दे चुका है। लेकिन उस समय COVID आ गया था।

When the AR will remove from Myanmae India border replacing by BSF Or ITBP. AR deployment at this border for more than ten years, they became friends with the tribes of border and said help in the plantation of poppy, by helping expansion of Golden Triangle drug business. Replacement by other force will help in bringing peace in Borders.

This is not to demoralise our soldiers but home ministry found out the nexus between Assam Rifles and Kuki militants in bringing in many Myanmarese immigrants to Manipur and Mizoram for poppy cultivation and drug trafficking. That is the reason why they are shifted to a sensitive area as penalty. The tasks they were doing had been given to BSF and ITBP

Infact Assam Rifles is only the Para Military Force of India entirely commanded by Army Officers under permanet operational control of MoD(Army) and subject to Army Act 1950. SFF is not under control of MoD. Coast Guard is also not commanded by Navy officers😢

Feel the Tezpur based 4 Corps. should be converted into a Mountain Strike Corps. & equipped accordingly- Reason being while the Panagarh based 17 Mountain Strike Corps. would look after the Silliguri & Chumbi Valley Region, the Tezpue based 4 Corps. would look after the Tawang region. With the 70% of Assam Rifles already looking after our defensive posture against China, it makes sense to convert Tezpur Corps. into an Offensive or Strike Corps.
