In the manhwa one prisoner mannaged to escape Kang and was hiding, but Jinwoo caught him and fed him to the monsters. Sad they didnt include this but other than that great episode, even better are coming.

Megumi turned bad! Some beautiful colour palettes in this episode. Loved the representation of Jinwoo’s emotions going out like the blue flame from the dungeon where he sacrificed his life. In a sense, it’s now parts of his soul that are being sacrificed in exchange for strength. Thank you for the review 😊

It's stuck pretty true to the LN's and and the Manwha. I don't recommend the Light Novels, as Volume one is a chore to get through, they've made the sound effects that are easier to discern in Japanese and Korean - they made them into English in the most Janky way possible. It's a slog to read. the Manwha has absolutely stellar artwork and a killer story, if you're going to look up stuff when Cour 1 ends, read the manwha as it's the easier option in English.

They are definitely adapting both sources, as they take sungs mental and struggle meter from the manhwa and not the LN (LN sung is way more, cold you could say, way more eager to do certain shit than in the anime and manhwa) and you cant ignore the panel by panel art inspiration from the manhwa as well. All in all an amazing choice to adapt from both sources. Makes sungs character a bit more grounded and believable, at the very least as much as it can in his circumstances

Why do people keep pushing this garbage? Most of the anime changes are original material to flesh out the side characters and to control pacing. One person spouts his opinion about it being from the light novel without even checking and the rest just keep repeating it as fact forever more...

@@brucecurtis9368 No one said that there weren't any anime original scenes in it. That's a a conclusion your ass came to without reason. Of course there are anime original scenes, like those with Cha hae in as she isn't introduced until later on, the exposition dumping with chairman Go gun hee, those with the female hunter trio, the meeting with the two guild masters etc. Those aren't what we were discussing, if you're able to comprehend that which I wrote, for example I stated sungs *mental* and *struggle meter* were taken from the manhwa, while some details and expo info from the LN. The art is also almost always a 1 to 1 from the manhwa's panels etc. The Cerberus fight was a creative anime og sequence for example, no one denied that

Fan Fact: Hwang Dongsuk was bad match up for Jinwoo. In my opinion he could win 1 v 1 against him if he attacked him at the start of the dungeon instead of letting the spider do it.

I'd say it's less a disinterest in philosophy and more an assumption on most people's part that you're probably hearing it for the hundredth time, not the first. That Nietzsche quote is a routine go-to for every edgelord or writer lazily creating an edgelord and just about every 'you get powers but also maybe bad stuff or eyeliner' setup I've ever heard of uses some variation on the line even when they're not attributing it or keeping to a verbatim quote.

I'm kinda disappointed that A-1 is holding way too much on fight scene and putting efforts only on the hype scene and it's kinda bugging me that they shouldn't have take this project if they didn't have enough budget. This episode was worse in terms of visual wise in this season so far i will see how they adapt the last arc of this season if they still don't go all out in the job change arc then i think they should hand this project to other studio

@@dave1123 what? Nothing that much. In episode 8 there are lot of new anime original scenes so i though they will make episode 9 all connected with light novel and Manwha. There was some scene they cut off from original source like after sung k*lled kang, sung found out one of the prisoner was faking his death so sung took that prisoner to boss room will him and told that prisoner to fight the boss monster but boss monster overpowered that prisoner and sung was just standing there watching as boss monster killing that prisoner. That would have make Sung's character more darker as Sung mention that he losing one of his emotion. But that doesn't mean this episode bad. it's good. [sorry for bad English]
