The only thing that bothered me while playing ac3 was when in combat, the attack warning didn't show up sometimes, so i coudn't defend myself.. don't know if i'm the only one, but it got really annoying. But it was great fun though

One thing that works is playing a bit without the SSI enabled so you learn to read the attack movements instead of the indicators.

I have been replaying the AC games set in the America's and what I did for challenge was trying to be sparing of life. So focusing on stealth and evasion tactics and going full murder spree only when really needed. Which turned out to be rather challenging, but also made those moments of going full violence so very satisfying. I also turned off the minimap which made stealth much more difficult as I had to use my own senses and eagle vision to track enemies and had to navigate a lot using landmarks, angles and climbing towers to actually see where I was going.
