I loved playing as Aveline. Interestingly, the woman who does her voice is the same woman who voiced Cristina in AC2 and AC: Brotherhood. I wish we could have a woman character as the main character in one of the main AC games. I'm tired of every Assassin being a guy. Sadly, Ubisoft appears to be run by people who are maybe not misogynists in the literal sense (i.e. I don't think they actually "hate" women), but people who, even after 8 first tier AC games, don't consider women important enough to get a single game with a female protagonist. Their numerous thinly veiled attacks on the very idea of a female lead (the most recent of which was the ludicrous assertion that they didn't have enough resources to make female avatars for online play in AC: Unity) are mocked by the existence of Aveline de Grandpré, whose game (AC: Liberation) was so successful that they decided to port the game over from the Playstation Vita to the PS3 and Xbox. And, as I alluded to earlier, their casual misogyny is not insulting just to women. The thing I miss that the series has lacked since the first game is a sense of control as the player regarding the main narrative. There was something refreshing about choosing how much investigations you would complete, how much you would let the side missions distract you. How much time and care you would bother to put into a "contract" was entirely up to the player and could be done in pretty much any order. I know this is hard to replicate in the later games but seriously the "Go here, do this, locate generic captain, follow and eavesdrop" It's just mind numbingly mundane and causes me to not give a shit about why I'm doing what I'm doing.

This is Assassin's Creed 4. This was an exclusive mission on PlayStation. PlayStation has had exclusive missions since Assassin's Creed 2 which I see no purpose for. The excuse was PS3 had exclusive missions because BluRay discs can hold the extra memory but Xbox and PC were still able to get it thru free DLC.

Before those misogynazis start rambling, I just want to point out that diversifying the available roles in video games helps Ubisoft appeal to a wider audience. In the long run, more women would find it socially acceptable to be a gamer and the gaming industry would have double the demand and higher revenue. The thing I dislike about this DLC is that every Regular in the Continental Army suddenly becomes an Officer, yet they have the fighting skill of a Regular.

I agree. The only character in this DLC who had the skills of an officer was Edmund Judge (the guy Aveline kills at the end of the DLC).

@@avelus5984 That's optional. I tackled him from behind when he was fighting Patience and fought him. There's no fun in just quickly assassinating someone who isn't looking.

Avaline, Arno, and Altair always made more sense as assassins cuz they were kinda leaner and more fluid with agility. Unlike Connor who is a big tank who just reks everything
