I agree that was really petty, but at least there was a reason, a means to escape. In AC3 it happened again, he went unconscious and was put into the animus because they need to get back to work. But there was still a reason, find the key.

I played it today for the 4th time and just recognized that the apple of eden is MISSING in the stick wich is disapering into the ground- in no scene (ending AC2 or intro ACB) it is shown who is taking possession of the apple- but later in Monterregioni Ezio is going to give it to his uncle Mario. Why Rodrigo Borgia didn't carried it with him as he escaped the pit? Some theories? Or did i missed something?
