IMO best and safest route is: New York - Seville (Tobacco) Seville - Boston (Steel) Boston - Bordeaux (Furs) Bordeaux - New York (Guns) ... repeat. Also what I consider good to start with is New Orleans - Havana (Sugar) and Havana - New Orleans (Tobacco).

What ship do you suggest to use for these routes? Edit: nevermind i found a ship that’s IMO pretty good: fregat it has a decent amount of speed and cargo. It is pretty expensive so I recommend buying it when you have some money!

Save yourself 8 minutes: send ships from Campeche to Seville with spices, gives 28500 profit on a 150 cargo and 38000 on a 200 cargo.

OK Galleons are cheaper but in the long run Barques are faster and carry more cargo. Also time wise biggest profit margin isn't necessarily the best. I basically go from Seville (Steel) to Port-au-Prince takes around 25 minutes (baring storms) instead of 39 minutes to Natchez with the added risk of losing some cargo to pirates sometimes. Then sail back again Port-Au-Prince (Spices) for bigger profit margin to Seville in the same time frame. You can use 7 ships just with those 2 ports so you always have one free docking space for continuous trading. Haven't yet found a good route for the 8th ship to trade back and forth with good return profits both ways. If you go to Natchez your return trip profits to other ports are going to be lower and take more time.....

This looks like a good AFK method. I did something similar for AC Brotherhood and Revelations. You basically wait for your money to build up.

PS4Trophies I was searching for a faster method to earn some money and to be honest I noticed this was actually not the best just the longest. If the people spend time to collect the chests they will have more then enough money to buy a brig or multiple better ships above the galleon. What I buy is the barque which is only 4300 more and it holds 150 and speed of 58 for long distant trades the people above are right buy a brig but for distances from Seville to Port-au-prince and back the barque was best iron from Sev to Port gains like 400 in profit and from Port to Sev I send spices from which is over 700 in profit and it only takes 17 minutes not 40+ the only benefit to large holds and low speed is you can go away from the trading but for profit galleon is not worth it.

im curious to know if you should note how much youre buying everything for, so if you buy 130 tobacco and spend 4800 on it, would you look at the port to send it to to try and beat that number, or is the number at the port the buying price for each unit? im just curious because it seems like its quite easy to buy something (cotton or whatever) and have only one port to send it to and get next to nothing in return, so it was a wasted investment.
