To be fair tho, this was already a feature in AC1 where doing the investigations (i.e. eavesdropping, pickpocket, interrogation, etc.) rewards you with detailed intel like guard placements, points of entry, and potential target locations. The thing that makes me loved AC from the beginning was in AC1, the main priority is get in and get out with as few confrontation as possible. Except for the mission where they sprung trap on Altair and fighting Robert, most can be done without bloodshed except for the main target. This gets lesser and lesser, starting with Ezio and Connor being a total slaughter machine.
@Nevad25 Жыл бұрын
Excited about this one. That's what I'm into Assassin's Creed for, stealth, parkour, a good story, fleshed out characters, investigating your targets to plan your Assassination, being a part of the Assassin brotherhood and carrying out the tenets of the Creed, wearing great looking and stylish hooded robes. I'm not into it to fight Norse gods, farming and leveling up as a Viking or Spartan mercenary. This one feels like a mix of Assassin's Creed 1 and Origins, and the OST that was presented in the trailers is reminiscent of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which is great.
@anthonygiangreco3621 Жыл бұрын
You realize there was way more to assassin's Creed then you say there is. It's never been just about Assassin's and investigations and parkour there is a whole storyline and lore that included mythology from every religion around the world. And the game is still gonna be a RPG style mechanics, it will just have newer advanced stealth and assassination mechanics that will give players the feeling of being a trained Assassin because the last three games were not meant to be about trained Assassins they were meant to explain the origins of how the Creed first became an organization, and how the ISU experimented on humans and how some were able to reincarnate themselves. All of which has always been a part of the Assassin's Creed lore. The last three games also filled gaps from past Assassin's Creed games especially the first game so really you don't know what you are talking about and you should've watched the head production manager of Ubisoft give a interview about the Assassin's Creed Mirage and the other titles that are in production like Hex, Jade and Red a few months ago.

@@anthonygiangreco3621 But that’s the point tho, the last games didn’t give the feeling of being a trained assassin (whether on purpose or not) but that’s what we’ve been missing. While I like all the lore the new games gave it never felt like it should have been the focus of the series. AC started as “living through your ancestors memories to learn the way of the assassins” and that’s what a lot of older players missed. They missed the stealth focused gameplay, the tactical approach to missions, social stealth and parkouring around a dense city, vanishing like a ghost into the sprawling streets. It wasn’t about being powered by the gods, but a honing of your craft and creed
@henksweers1967 Жыл бұрын
It's really sad. When I saw how smooth and impressive those two new vaulting animations were, it hit me how much potential Ubisoft has and what they are capable of with a team that's truly passionate about the game and has a clear vision for it. The last time I was genuinely blown away by a Ubisoft game with better graphics and noticeable technological improvements was with AC Origins. With all the advancements in technology since Unity, there's so much room to take the parkour to the next level. If Ubisoft uses a dedicated engine that's similar to Unity's format, the possibilities would be endless!

I am very cautiously optimistic for Mirage. I don't think we'll get anything TOO close to the old games given the engine we're working with and the lack of development time to rework the engine to any meaningful degree, but I do think Mirage will be a MASSIVE step in the right direction. Treating stealth as the main playstyle instead of an optional one and speeding up Basim's movements will do wonders for the game as a whole. As far as story I don't think we'll get anything too spectacular but I hope there is some interesting parts. For a point of comparison Black Flag wasn't the best AC story (in my opinion) at least as far as the intrigue of the Isu, modern day story as a whole, general cohesion of the ancestor memories and modern day combining into one story told across centuries etc. (I think Ac1-Revelations are yet to be topped in those aspects, and for me they are what made the series unique) but I loved Black Flag's story for what it did well, some of which were executed the best in the series in my opinion (mostly Edward's development but there were some other great things in there too. I found most of the little snippets you could find in the Abstergo offices interesting and they reminded me a little bit of the entries you could read in Ac1 after completing investigation missions). We haven't seen much of anything for the story (that I am aware of) so I might just be proven wrong, as I hope to be with all of my concerns for this game. At the end of the day I don't think this game will surpass those games in many aspects, but I hope it can get close and perhaps be an equal to them in some ways. You're definitely right though, no matter how the game actually plays or how well it emulates the felling of the classic AC games the soundtrack will slap.

The fundamental issue with Origines/Odyssey/Valhalla traversal mechanics was an over-simplification that rendered them useless and boring. The previous entry had plateforming mechanics that needed a combination of input to achieve a specific movement or to reach a point. It was fairly simple, but it had enough variety to enable a sense of *control* over the move set. Origins completely removed any kind of depth and control over the character: you push forward and press X/A/Space to jump. It is non-ironically less compelling than the Mario games of the NES. It seems this will still be an issue in Mirage, albeit alleviated by the opportunity to traverse more environment. But the fundamental issue, the lack of explicit control and the lack of depth associated, will remain. Too bad.

Origins Odyssey and Valhalla were not meant to be like the original games first off they are not based on trained Assassins, second they have never made an Assassin's Creed game the same as the last, every game has a different feeling.
@anthonygiangreco3621 Жыл бұрын
The only fundamental issue is that people have their own expectations that they think Ubisoft should fill for them instead of enjoying the differences between all the games and instead of expecting the same thing look forward to something new and better because Origins Odyssey and Valhalla Play perfectly, the parkour wasn't bad for games that was built to be stealth RPG game's. The RPG mechanics made the Assassin's Creed franchise more unique and expanded the worlds the games are set in. And the Assassin's Creed franchise has always had a mythical lore in the storyline. The apple of enden, the ISU being named after either Roman, Greek or Egyptian gods they just expanded that aspect of the lore and added More to it and gave players like myself who have been playing Assassin's Creed since 2007 a chance to finally engage with the ISU and learn more about the ISU lore.

A little rant as a long time fan of the serie, since AC1, not to hate on Mirage since I'm really hopeful to get something good again, but just to know if someone else has the same fears of me. Doesn't look like they just did "we have removed 100% of everything that made the old AC, but look, now we're giving back 50% of them"? And I'm like "yeah, but we already had that 100%. You made that 15 years ago. Now we should have 150%". All this trailers are about things of the old AC that had been restored, wich is great, but a true "return to the roots" shouldn't be "AC1 but less", it should also be the rightful evolution of everything that has been done with the original serie. I'm hopeful and I pray to be wrong, but I don't think I'll be fine with Mirage being only a lite version of the old AC, with some mechanics restored, others forgotten and literally nothing new and no evolution whatsoever. Am I the only one?
@adamibnal-alam8917 Жыл бұрын
Mirage is like trying to make a pizza out of a cake batter. The base material was never cut out to fit the original games. They're trying to reinforce the stealth mechanics of Valhalla and adding a bit more traversal, but these were secondary gameplay units in the game, not their base like in the original tetralogy. Unity was a faithful "return to the basics" after Black Flag pirate fever dream. But Mirage feels really like playing Assassin in Skyrim while claiming it's Dishonored.

Two things here: marketing and approximation. They mention AC2's parkour to cather to old players (like us ?) who loved it while also being fully aware that they can't and won't go back to it. Honestly all I’ve ever wanted from AC was Hitman but in the past. (And also for the modern day story to actually go anywhere.)

As a big fan of the original formula who didn’t care about the newer ones, I’m getting more and more hyped about this one. The parkour system up to Revelations was easily the most responsive and fun to me. The social stealth in my mind is at the core of the series so I was actually surprised all those things “coming back” had been removed in the first place. Improved more granular AI could make this a lot more fun and less frustrating than in the old games. I like the setting as well. Really if the experience can be polished without annoying bugs or performance issues (flashback to Unity on release) I’ll definitely be getting it. Good stuff Ubisoft!

First Assassins Creed game Ive been excited for since Black Flag

This last year i have played every AC game. And i understand why this franchise needs to go back to its roots. It is fine to have new elements and change some, but as a part of a franchise it has to mantain its essense (Stealth, parkour, and a strong link with the whole Assassins and Templars story). i'm actually very excited with this new game. It seems that for the first time they really want to learn from the past. They are focusing on nostalgia, and i'm here for it.

I also like how this is still being worked on infront of the people because it allows for a bigger perspective

Just fyi, the ladder looks like concept art before finalizing on the pole so don't be surprised if you can't find it in the game

I really want the motion capture cutscenes to return. In odyssey and valhalla there were barely any of those. To me, these kind of cutscenes make the characters feel alive and not just some npcs that feel like robots. I'm not making the same mistake to pre-order this one if there are no mo-cap scenes showing up in the upcoming gameplays

Honestly I hope you can take your hood off for social stealth. It would make sense that if you try to blend in, you will change your silhuette even if just slightly

it's because one of UBIsofts top grossing franchises is on the chopping block for its direction lately... If this one fails ... it's probably the end of AC

I'm just so pumped to FINALLY have another Assassin's Creed game, lol. Can't wait for October 12th!

I think it would be neat if you planned the assassination sorta like the GTA heists where you could set up different distractions or bribes guards assassinate a watch leader during a set up I think it would be a neat little feature

You should make a series about video game characters outside of assassin’s creed that would be accepted into the brotherhood

With the bench assassinations, I don't think Basim will lay the body down on the bench like the old games, they don't show it so I think it will be the same as Valhalla where u just stand up, walk towards them and then stab them.
@fuckoffgoogle1657 Жыл бұрын
Ezio didn’t lay down..nor Altair or Edward. You’ve lost me
@claytonsmith5761 Жыл бұрын
@@fuckoffgoogle1657 in the old games, during a bench assassination, the body would be placed on the bench in place of where the assassin was sitting/blending in. However, in the new games, this doesn't happen and it is instead just a transition into a standing assassination.

Watching your videos I found out there existed Assassin's Creed parts that I was oblivious to. Please make a list of all the games, DLCs, spinoffs, etc that I should play to get the full Assassin's Creed experience in chronological order.
Going back to roots is the best. It be cool if they could add a stealth feel while adding strong dynamic fighting gameplay...thing something like ghost of tsushima or asc origin
