The difference is, when I tried Italian in Ezio Trilogy and French in Unity, I paid too much attention to the subtitles until I missed out many other things on the screen. For Ghost of Tsushima however, I did play it in Japanese. Due to my experience from watching anime, I could understand most of the dialogues without looking at the subtitles.

I'm bangali but i was born and raised in Saudi Arabia. So listening characters talk Arabic in a game is a joy for me after a long time of not listening to any Arabic. Listening to these voice actors talk reminds me of old Arabic cartoons that i used to watch when i was young which sometimes break the immersion. But I'm not complaining, i love Arabic and I'm gonna finish this game in Arabic ❤

The Arabic is really bad. It probably only sounds good for non Arabic speakers. Because they are speaking in Classical Arabic but if you know anything about Arabic is that speaking Classical Arabic speaking it is big no no. It’s only for books, news and mails. And make you sound like someone who just started learning Arabic. The game should have an Iraqi dialect not classical.

As someone who understands Arabic, I'm happy that they made this version, I'm also happy that people are enjoying it But as a speaker of the language, it's very annoying simply because it seems that they chose some people who have little to no experience in voice acting. It seems so from what I heard in this video at least Some of them sound like they're acting in an Arabic childrens cartoon rather than real actors acting in a movie. A little bit cringy to me at some points It sounds like they are trying to get through their lines as fast as possible and are not well versed in expressing emotions in their voice well

@@dhman_bey6530 I don't mind fusha, it is appropriate for the time period (set in 861) But i do mind a bit that it's not proper fusha pronunciation at times, its immersion breaking. But what I mostly mind that the voice acting seems a bit unprofessional, lacking in direction and emotional depth and character (at least from these clips shown here, I don't know if its better in the game).

I don't speak Arabic, but after an hour in the game i switched the spoken language to Arabic. Many Arabics here say they shouldn't've used Classic Arabic, but it's the language of the Qur'an and was spoken from the 7th to the 9th century, exactly when AC Mirage is taking place in. So i think the reason it sounds weird for Arabic speaking people, is that the voice actors are also not used to speaking it, so it sounds more like they're reading a script, in stead of how they would say it themselves in a real situation. Anyway, in this case, it doesn't bother me since i (sadly) don't speak Arabic.

You're wrong, just as in modern day Baghdad, classical Arabic, was used in official documents, poetry, philosophy, and other intellectual pursuits. While dialects of Arabic were spoken in everyday life.
@johanliebert8652
@johanliebert8652 3 ай бұрын
@@DaredevilX90 true. During the Abbasid Caliphate, especially in its capital, Baghdad (founded in 762 CE), classical Arabic was indeed used for official, intellectual, and literary purposes. It was the language of administration, scholarship, philosophy, poetry, and religious discourse. The Abbasid period is often considered the golden age of Islamic civilization, and Baghdad was a center for intellectual pursuits. Classical Arabic (or fus'ha) was the language used in written documents, such as government records, scientific treatises, philosophical works, and religious texts, including the Qur'an. Scholars like Al-Farabi, Al-Kindi, and Ibn Sina (Avicenna) wrote their works in classical Arabic, contributing to fields like philosophy, medicine, and astronomy. At the same time, people in everyday life spoke various dialects of Arabic. These dialects would have differed based on region and social class. The vernacular Arabic of daily life was distinct from the highly formalized classical Arabic of written culture. This kind of linguistic situation, where one form of a language is used for formal writing and another for everyday conversation, is known as "diglossia," which continues in the Arab world today. It is the same of all assassins creed games. No-one complained about assassins creed unity tho, even tho the French used, is the standard one and not the weird ass accent of that time.

As a native Arabic speaker and a voice artist, the Arabic VO in this game ranges between 6 to 8 out of 10 depending on the scene, but to non natives, I bet it will always sound like an 8 or 9 out of 10 to them so yeah it's basically like playing GOT in Japanese which I enjoyed a lot and didn't like the English Dub.

I genuinely hate it when the English dub mixes Arabic in its sentences when it’s not necessary. I’d rather hear AC1 dialogue over this shit. But at least we have the Arabic dub, maybe it’s formal Arabic, but it’s still better than the English IMO.

Because they are using “fusha” Classical Arabic no one speaks Classical Arabic it’s not spoken language it’s only for books, formal mails and news. They should have used Iraqi Arabic…..but even if they used different dialect it would have still been better than using classical……..
