Why are all AC KZbinrs who talk about the games so bad at the actual games. The game looks very similar to Valhalla or Origins, and yet everyone is playing like they're holding the controller for the first time and they are completely unfamiliar with the formula. It's a weird trend overall. Game developers tend to give early access mainly to talkers, not the players. Next time Ubisoft should give the access to someone like StealthGamerBR, who can show proper stealth gameplay that does the game justice.

All of y'all bitching about the teleporting being "unrealistic" or whatever are hilarious. We've had "Eagle Vision" for years, which literally lets you see through walls, but y'all were silent on that. At least this game is back to its stealth, small-ish map roots and isn't an action RPG with a huge map and no stealth like the last 2 games.

@@Cutter1018 Opinions are subjective. Sorry to burst* your bubble. Odyssey and Valhalla are NOT Assassin's Creed games. They are action-adventure open world RPG games with the AC name tacked onto them. Literally nothing about them is Assassin's Creed except stories tied to the Hidden Ones, and maybe a hidden blade. Which, by the way, was not hidden at all in Valhalla. Eivor has it on top of the gauntlet, not underneath (you know, HIDDEN) like literally every other AC protagonist! Hell, Odyssey's main character doesn't even have a damn hidden blade, and it's an ICON of the franchise. They realized this after the fact and released a DLC which has a character with "the first hidden blade". You can have your opinions, that's fine, but to say that Odyssey, a glorified 300 simulator in which the main character doesn't even wear a hidden blade, is the best AC game ever made is just ludicrous to me. You are free to like what you like, but I am too. I like Assassin's Creed games. Have a good day.

He is completely focused on the execution of the kills. His mind doesn't record full memories of these moments. That would totally make sense and explain the absence of the transitions.

That teleport crap still bugs me. Ghost of Tsushima did it better, using slowmo and camera manipulation to give the illusion that Jin is running to each enemy rather than teleporting. It was so cinematic and smooth. Assassinating through walls was so much fun too. And it was a nice touch of progression to see the stealth animations change as you become more proficient. I appreciate they’re trying to go back to the roots but they really need to step up their creativity with stealth. Right now it’s kinda bare minimum passable which is still better than Odyssey Valhalla. People always say AC needs to evolve, but it doesn’t mean twist it’s identity into an action rpg, it means come up with new tricks for stealth and parkour.

​@@Liam_Grey Having the game play for you is bad design in my opinion, they should have a power where you can dash forward quickly from one ennemy to the other or slow time but at least something where you stay somewhat active. Like OP said, we should have a very deep stealth and parkour system by now with all those AC games if they had improved them over and over with each entry. Instead we get the same bare minimum of what a stealth games can do while also having the game not trust you to be smart enough to handle "complex" situations (press this button to kill these 3 guys at once without any consequence instead of having to think for more than 2 seconds). The game looks ok but I'm still expecting the same shitty AI and lack of variey in adressing different stealth scenarios, after all those years, which is a pity coming from a company who made the splinter cell games.

I can't wait for this game but I'm still so disappointed at Ubi that they couldn't take the time out to just add the animations in the Assassin Focus showing Basim move from target to target swiftly but in slowmo ala Arkham Knight or Ghost of Tsushima. It would have looked much better and not looked at as some magical teleportation ability as the community has been calling it. Especially when you have been boasting about more grounded and back to the roots game experience. That little effort of adding the animations would have gone a long way instead of the lame cop out excuse that Basim is moving so fast it's a glitch in the Animus. That is easily avoided and wouldn't be questioned if they would have gone the route of the two mentioned games above. Just minor attention to details that could have made this the BEST AC experience. But other than that it does look like a very solid AC game, and closer to what the core fans wanted.

It's literally the exact same as Odyssey, Origins & Valhalla, from the choppy fight animations to the comical "Assassinate this guy" prompt when you approach someone, to the one-tap picking up 89 steel ingots & 14 prayer beads from a random box in the middle of a camp. I haven't seen anything on this game since the premiere and was just under the assumption it was completely new age assassins creed game going back to its roots. I was kinda expecting something like Unity in a new era but this was not the case. I still love Valhalla though, I put over 240 hours into the game but it's just not a good Assassins Creed game. This is pretty much Valhalla but with more grounded combat mechanics. I really hope the AI and stealth is revamped though.. We'll see. I've had it preordered since the beginning. I guess I was expecting a bit more but this still doesn't look bad.

They used the same game engine as AC Origins, which explains why many things look similar. Some animations have been reused but adjusted a bit. Watch more gameplay vida and you'll see.

Unfortunately no, you cannot remove Basim's hood/helmet. Also you can't select and change each armor piece individually, instead, there are full outfits like the Initiate outfit and the Master Assassin outfit.

oh man, this game is looking good. I have preordered it (call me a clown if the game isn't good), because I have had hope in the AC series despite being a relatively new fan (joined when origins released and haven't played Valhalla). I absolutely can't wait to play Mirage next week, however I believe that instead of going gold they should have further refined the existing parkour system into something marvelous. But, I do understand their choice for not giving Basim flashy parkour like some fans expected (for example Arno or some of the other assassins in the series) because of the state of architecture at the time (with there being basic buildings, occasionally having a terrace or a rampart for forts and building complexes). I mean, the time period of Mirage's setting (861 AD) could result in a lot of changes to systems that the AC games are known for. After all, AC is/was considered a historical social stealth combat game despite its recent games going off track from what AC is known for. Personally, that is why I (and most other people) think why AC Mirage could be considered one of the biggest releases that Ubisoft has ever made in the Assassins Creed series as it can either be a hit game, or a massive flop, consequentially effecting the upcoming announced AC games that are yet to come. Sorry for yapping on, I am just really bored waiting for this game :)

@@bayaholis This game looks like it will have better stealth than Origins by far: social stealth with systemic blending exists in this game where it didn't in Origins; stealth kills are guaranteed one-hit-kill where they weren't in Origins; stealth tools like smoke bombs can be manually aimed and thrown in this game where they couldn't in Origins. The movement mechanics in Origins and Valhalla are basically identical in terms of breadth and depth. Basim and Bayek look similar in top speed. Maybe Mirage will fall short of Origins in story, acting, and cinematics, but I'm not going to judge that from work-in-progress gameplay demos removed of narrative context.

The way it used to be in the “old” AC’s,…AC1, AC2, AC3…the whole attack/counter attack style, not charging in sword-swinging anime style. I know I saw a post about a dev saying that they were going back to that style of combat because that’s what community was being really vocal about. (But of course I can’t find it now…) And, yes, I agree AC is LIFE…lol

This is streamed from a PC at Ubisoft to his PC, so we don't know the specs, but they are similar to Valhalla. If you run Valhalla without lag then you should be good for Mirage

Depends on what you think is "useful". The eagle Enkidu can mark enemies and targets, maybe even some kinds of loot and entrances to specific places

People want to diminish / overshadow any sort of positive improvement or the final product just for critiquing sake. But with the amount of time and resources Ubisoft Bordeaux had, they clearly made a step in the right direction. Sure it’s Valhalla’s engine but this just makes me eager to see further entries now that Ubisoft have acknowledged what the fans want atmospherically. Props to UB for being able to shift the timeline back into AC’s golden era👏🏼

The graphics are 6/10 at best. The cutscenes look like a high end PS3 game. Even Unity with mods has better graphics
