Assassin's Creed Odyssey is over 5 years old now...Does that make you guys feel old or is it only me? I remember vividly when this game came out and how I felt about it. And almost 6 years later I now feel completely different about it then I did back then. This video is meant to be a quick revisit to Assassin's Creed Odyssey and how it holds up over 5 years later. I definitely hope to make a longer more in depth video for it later this year once I've had the opportunity to replay it in full...

@@kingyoung5228 AC Origins is definitely an aging gem by now, loved it so much, wish it was a little longer. Odyssey, while it had little relevance to the AC story and not many opportunities for stealth and parkour, was definitely my favourite in terms of exploration, colour/appearance, and humour in some of the side quests. AC Valhalla was a strange one, I enjoyed the combat but my issue is that the story just dragged on making it longer than it needed to be.

Though Origins is my favorite in the series, followed by Black Flag and Revelations, I go back to Odyssey the most. It is just so easy to return just to roam and do random things such as simple fetch quests, quest boards, battles, clearing forts in stealth or combat, hunting, naval battles, mercenaries, etc. It is such an easy to play casually. Not to mention the Discovery Tour.

i would say that its a great openworld action adventure game but a pretty bad rpg. the choices don't change how you experience the game, the only difference is who sits at the dinnertable at the end lol. well exept for that one mission on the first island with the sick family that actually had consequences. and it obviously should not have been under the name ac.

I got corrupted save 3 times losing 20-25h progress each time.. and I still f*ing enjoyed it. About to install custom save to play all the eide content and DLCs (cuz save file again got corrupted, I'm cursed). Happiest days of my life also (up there with FarCry 3)

The crazy thing about it is that the rpg mechanics are what made this game addicting for me The fact that you can really customize your character and tweak the gameplay to what you like made it so satisfying and encouraging for me to grind even more to this game Also the fact there is always plenty of stuff to do in this game, pretty interesting side quests, bounty hunters chasing you down it is something that can keep you occupied as well

Odyssey is my favorite AC game by far, coming from Skyrim being my fav game of all time, AC Odyssey just did everything right, combat was good, stealth was still good, story was pretty decent, boat combat was fun, better than skull and bones... and the settings were super cool, especially the Atlantis DLC. Its also a game I can recommend to people who never cared for AC games but love rpgs., and they really like it! I think its the best, but I'm hoping for RED to be even better.

I just finished a full 100% 400+ hour run. I started last year after the final storyline dropped. I took my time exploring every last thing I could find. I can overlook the flaws for the overall experience of the game. I did not like it when it first launched. I love it now that I gave it the full attention I never had time for in the past. I still go back and play a few hours a week, on my 4th new game reroll.

I will never delete Odyssey from my system because it's a game I like to revisit from time to time like GTA games. There's always something new when I jump back in. Your description of why people like it is probably right. It's the Greek setting and the charm for me. It's one of those games that makes me feel cozy. I'm not stressed when I play it. Just feels like a fun game to run around and get lost in. If there is a fight, I can just destroy them as I'm pretty much a demigod.

Odyssey is still my Favorite Video Game ever. Yes, there are better ones out there, but as a whole Package, this Game has everything I love. A huge, beautiful Open World with interesting Quests. An emotional, character-driven Story. The most customization Options in the Franchise, so many Build Variants, so many Fashion Choices. A fantastic Score. Great Voice Acting. Fun, fast-paced & engaging Combat. Stealth, while may not be mandatory, is incredibly satisfying, when you snuff out an entire Fortress without anyone noticing. 6 DLC Packs that add tons of Content & a free Epilogue Chapter, I'm very happy we got.

I have been waiting for five years for a positive review on this game from you. I saw those old videos that you used to play hating this game and I used to just turn you off. Every every game deserves a chance, and this assassin‘s Creed game for me was the best. I never played the old ones I started playing origins, and then Odyssey. I tried to play one of the old ones and I just hated the fighting mechanics, This is the kind of game you put in 300+ hours then you review it. Some KZbinrs played a week right after the game came out and said they hated it. You can’t do anything in a week in this game. I hope to see another video showing that you played the entire game. I love the Assassin's Creed series mainly because of the historical setting. I remember studying about the French Revolution in school while watching theRadBrad's gameplay of AC Unity and it felt amazing. I could visualise the storming of the Bastille. The various historical figures, King Louis and Marie Antoinette and even Château de Versailles.. Feels surreal.

I was mixed on Odyssey when it came out but RDR2 came out around that time too so RDR took my attention away from Odyssey. I went back to it a few times but finally finished it in 2021. I had just got my first 4K tv and the 60fps patch had come out. I played on my PS5 and realized how fun and beautiful the game is. Greece is so stunning and I had a blast. Its such a cool setting too that doesn't get explored much. I had so much fun I finished the game and jumped right into the both DLC. I did all of Valhalla and the first 2 DLC right after (Dawn of Ragnarok wasn't out). I have no idea how I didn't get burnt out. Still can't believe its been over 5 years because the game still looks great.

AC 1 was technically my first game, but I was young and thought it was boring, just recently of last year I picked up Odyssey and started playing it, still am cause damn this game is HUGE! What's weird is that this game actually got me into the AC games, after playing this I picked up AC 1 again and I was almost shocked at the Night and Day difference of the two. Now in 2024 I am obsessed with this series and love all the games, all because of this one RPG Creed.

It was 2021 when I had finished my play through of Odyssey (story, DLCs, and achievements) and I had started playing the vacation storyline at the start of this year. Some of my pros and cons with this game: +Greece is beautiful and detailed +Boss fights are fun +Lots of customization options +Multiple enemy types to fight +Barnibas is a great quartermaster and character +Lots of historical Greek characters to interact with and Greek monsters to confront +Cultist system is fun +3 new open worlds to explore in the Fate of Atlantis DLC +Shows lots of tragedy whether it be with Kassandra/Alexios or with other characters or civilians you interact with -Leveling up takes longer than it should -Too high resource requirements to upgrade gear and ship -Tone is too goofy -The camps and tombs feel the same -Dialogue choices are mostly pointless especially with romances -Mission structure is repetitive with making players do 3 of something constantly -Enemies are damage sponges -No confession scenes from the targets -No guaranteed instant kills even if you are the same level or higher than certain enemies +\-Lots of gear and weapons to pick from +\-Bounty hunter system is challenging Odyssey is definitely not one of my favorite games in the series with how grindy and repetitive and unfair it gets but it has a beautiful open world and offers a lot in gameplay and exploration. And while it is goofy it is also tragic.

I remember when it was launch and im seeing negative reviews with it as not an ac game and also one of those who hate the game become but during my playthrough of ACOd i set the difficulty to easy so that the enemies is not spongy and it really feel like the old games even in this settings npcs take much damage which i really love that its balanced also i wanted to be openminded I have in my mind to play it as a demigod (isu blood/heroes journey) folktale in a world of assassin lore in the beginning, I wanted to be a hero of Greece like the myths the choices I make during playthrough using Kassandra as canon really works and I don't used over the top abilities to break immersion I wanted it to be as grounded as possible with little hints of her power and I just used it later in dlc as a human mercenary way up into being a demigod by the end of dlc, I enjoyed it very much, the game really defines on how you play the game to be able to enjoy it. I think I play the game the way it meant to be played, I play all the ac and the game and Kassandra is in my top 5 list in the franchise. Kassandra is a well written char if you really understand her character of course it depends on the choices you make during playthrough.

Wow Master I see this video when I just started my 2nd play through today as Kassandra on new game+ I remembered why I enjoyed this and Origins. It’s not so much an AC game but it’s still a fuckin great adventure hands down.

im being fr with you. odyssey is the typa game that i've been looking for for sooo long. i like games like skyrim, fallout, the witcher 3, arkham knight, etc, an rpg game that is vast realistic but not too realistic. about a year ago i purchased this game and expecting to be like black flag or something which i like too. but then it turn to probably the best rpg game i've played. and i got it for dirt cheap too.

I played odyssey after a long ass time of not playing assassin’s creed(since I was in 6th grade and I’m 19 now) it threw me for a loop cause it was so different from what I knew. I think looking at it with those fresh eyes though gave me the chance to enjoy it for what it was instead of projecting my own expectations on it. That and my love for greek mythology got me to love the game despite its flaws. I kinda just separate this type of ac game from the old and I play whatever depending on the mood I’m in.

Tbh, you and Lazerzz were 2 youtubers who kept me from playing odessey.. then i watched Luke Stephens take on Odessey that changed my mind and i loved it so much when i played and completed it recently.. and furthermore Luke Stephens doesn't like Valhalla and i avoided Valhalla for many months then i played it after finishing Odessey.. well i liked Valhalla too.. so moral of the story, don't go with youtubers intense criticism of the games.. AC games are generally well made given it's popularity.. With right mindset you can enjoy any good-great game.. example, let's say You hear people praising GhostofTsushima like it's a masterpiece(which it is) and when you play it and don't find the reason it to be masterpiece, you will mostly don't enjoy the game that much and always keep searching the factor which makes it masterpiece from your point of view.. so just play good-great games with right expectation in place you will enjoy the game no matter the status of the game..

@@the_seer_0421 i think it gets old pretty fast.. weapons and gears aren't as many and much interesting as it was in Odessey.. very limited encounters in Valhalla.. in Odessey you could engage in wars repeatedly and it was fun to test out various builds.. here those things are not there as of my current stage in the game..

You are right tho, I didn't like odyssey at first, but when i tried thinking of it as a normal game and let it do it's thing rather than an ac game, i enjoyed it. The main issue was ubisoft marketting it as a part of assassin's creed, i think that was the main part of the hatred.

It's the game I've played most hours. It was pretty cheap two years ago. The last DLC is great. And it makes sense it's inspired after W3 (it's also one of my fave of all time!)
