They practically didnt need them lol, Ezio and Altair where very proficient in killing their targets. Especially Ezio once in Brotherhood, he could chain kill almost forever; moreover, kill 50+ enemies in about 2 minutes. Ezio and Altair with the weapon of Odyssey, would just give them other ways to kill their targets. From what I've gathered throughout their games, Ezio is the most deadliest Assassin to ever live according to statements, and Altair is a shadow nobody would see him coming.

AC Brotherhood Omfg, dude. They were game mechanics. They had nothing to do with the characters. They introduced killing-spreas in Brotherhood and kept it until Black flag. That doesn't mean the chars that followed afterwards were worse. Just that Ubi changed the combat mechanics.

By far till this day, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood/Revelation gave Ezio the best combat, which simply tranlates to the character itself. That's how GAMES in general work, but regardless I love the recent new games. I hope Valhalla surprises me.

i had to bind the buttons to be the same button instead of the two buttons to do the block or parry move. i made a few other adjustments as well as the game needed these little tweaks to work the best way that it could. but then again, i was mostly a stealthy player who killed entire strongholds almost without being spotted with real fast precision, in most cases i would have them all dead in nothing flat and it was rare that they ever got the upper hand on me.

Y'all say this isn't an ac game but it is actually, this game is about a mercenary warrior hero that tracks and hunts down the cult that are later templars if I'm not mistaken, and if you have fate of atlantis dlc, you defeat the gods and monsters and they turn into "The Apples Of Eden" which the assassin's and the templars fight over on the future, this game is very much an ac game because it clearly shows you how it all began, this game has stealthy mechanics, right? This game has sword combat right? This game air assassinations right? In this game you assassinate "Cultists" right? And you assassinate bandit leaders right? Doesn't that make it an ac game? Just because you don't have the hidden blade or an white and red robe doesn't mean it's a bad ac game ungreatful idiots, if you guys use that empty head of yours, you can clearly see that this is an assassin game and you clearly are constantly assassinating someone in alot of missions, but y'all sh*t on the devs and the game itself just because it's an ac game with a warrior-like play style as well? nobody complain about origins being an ac game, but everyone complain about odyssey being ac game when both of these game basically share the same mechanic. its not only about combat game, it also has great stealth aspect (the enjoyment of playing stealth mode with assasin and hunter abilities). its basically an upgrade to any ac games including origins. when i play odyssey and then back to origins, i really feel the downgrade (no skill wheels, no perks in armors, no engraving in weapons & armor, no arrow crafting, no conquest battle, etc)

And if you play the dlc, you would find out that the founder of assasin creed (aya) has the same bloodline with kassandra. So basically, odyssey is the origins of origins of assasins creed. But apart from all of that, I agree that this game should be called just "odyssey", because maybe people would appreciate this game more. The critics already give a great review to this game, the only community that hates this game is AC fans. It reminds me how dmc fans hate ninja theory'a dmc despite the game gets a good review from the critics. 2nd reason why I prefer this game to be called just " Odyssey" Is because I hope this game would be a franchise that I can continue to play as kassandra again lmao.

i was always straight up stealth in this game, i couldn't stand the dumb spongy combat nonsense, but i really had to work to get to that point as the enchantments for high crit and crit chance were kind of hard to come by, but when i had the best gear i could possibly get i was like a quick stealthy demon who took out entire strongholds like they were nothing.

Her walk and run animations are that of an NPC or a very basic RPG character. Bayek in origins had weight to the character model feeling it more realistic. I won't expect much from Odyssey cos it does not obey laws of physics at all.

@Eoghan at least he's using a tool from an ancient powerful civilization, which fits the universe and is not too crazy considering the series and its story. Gameplay-wise it was only for one mission and didn't stick for the rest of the game whereas being able not to feel any fall damage or teleport from enemy to enemy just feels dumb and like a game breaker to me. Parkour is already way too easy for not adding on top of that an ability to be sure to ever mess up even if you're bad at the game (cause you really have to mean it to miss a jump or fall down from a height in this game since AC3, even first AC's system wasn't complicated on that aspect though it had more depth). That series is supposed to be somewhat realistic while having some sci fi stuff with the ancient civilization. It's still a video game so yeah, you can handle a lot of enemies, do some very difficult parkour moves, etc. and there is no such thing as an animus in real life but it still tried to be realistic in some ways and have some coherence with its universe even if you're playing a perfect human being on a lot of aspects (strong, agile, experienced, etc.). But this mythical and fantastic stuff we got in these new games doesn't fit the series in my opinion and completely breaks coherence, they should have done a new rpg series on those civilizations (Egyptians, Greeks, Celtics, etc.) where mystical stuff is a thing, everybody knows they just use the assassin's creed's name as a branding tool to sell the game.

Even if it was brought up in the story that the character is a demigod or whatever fantasy stuff, gameplay-wise it is not a good choice in my opinion to reflect it as "no more fall damage", especially in a game where messing up the parkour is a real challenge considering how automated everything is. Honestly, they should have done a new rpg series starting with origins where mystical stuff fits in and does not come off their hat by saying "come on it's the ancient civilisation man". This way I could have enjoyed these games way more than I did as they would have had more freedom to write a meaningful story without being dragged down by the main AC storyline and all that it implies. I still wouldn't have liked the gameplay if it was the same though but maybe they would have gone into more combat-oriented games with a deeper, more engaging combat system without the damage sponge effect and weird animations we got with these games.

I can't understand AC origins fans that bash this game mechanic while both games literally share the same game mechanic. The only differences are odyssey has more features (weapon & armor engraving, arrow crafting, skill wheel, better skill set, better legendary armor & weapon attributes & perks, abillity stats upgrade, slow mo dodge, etc etc etc). Talking about game mechanic flaw, how they never bring how bad parry system ini origins? Like, you already hit R1 button, but it's actually useless because enemies can still hit you. On the other hand, parry system in odyssey is so smooth that it makes it so effortless to do it. Don't get me wrong, I love origins, it's my 2nd most favorite ps4 game all the time (I like it better than god of war - 2018 game of the year), but tbh its fans (and AC franchise in general) are toxic. Odyssey is well proven as the great game as they get great reviews by the critics. The only community that hate this game is AC franchise fans. The other funny thing they said is odyssey is not an AC game because you don't have to do stealth anymore as you could just blatantly beat the shit out of enemies. Wtf? You still can do stealth in this game, it depends on what styles you wanna play (hunter, warrior, assasin). If i wanna play as an archer, I would take a long distance to shoot an enemies, if wanna do melee combat style, I would attack them directly, if i wanna be a silent assasin, I would approach a stealth style. If that's the reason why odyssey can't be called AC game, so why they don't say the same thing about origins as this game also could beat enemies directly? But tbh, on the other hand, I also agree with them about how this game should be called just "odyssey". Because maybe people would appreciate this game more. As I said before, the critics already give a great review to this game, the only community that hates this game is AC fans. It reminds me how dmc fans hate ninja theory'a dmc despite the game gets a good review from the critics. 2nd reason why I prefer this game to be called just " Odyssey" Is because I hope this game would be a franchise that I can continue to play as kassandra again lmao.

AC fans were used to have the easiest gameplay (hit - kill) for almost a decade, so when ubisoft releases a game that needs more than 1/2 buttons to kill an enemy, they get pissed!
