The trees you keep insisting you could get wood from are palm trees mate. They are incredibility flexible to the point that hurricane force winds won't snap them. This means that they are a terrible building material as you want a hard wood for that.

Wouldn't flexible trees be good for building houses out of tho? Or am I just an idiot
@Streptovarius6 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure a house being flexible is a good thing, it just seems like something would get damaged by it bending. I've actually just looked it up, apparently if you dry it out the wood becomes quite strong so for use in building a house it's fine. Though I think this might very based on the kind of palm. It takes a while for wood to dry out even in a desert. I doubt the character has the time to waste on cutting trees down and drying them.

@yordlejay68206 жыл бұрын
I've played it and can thoroughly say. RPG mechanics DO NOT WORK. In assassins creed. In any other AC game when Jon went to drop kill that guy he woulda died. Why? Because there weren't RPG mechanics messing verything up
@supercraft1176 жыл бұрын
SomeIdiotWithAGame I quite liked the RPG mechanics. It allows for an open world that still has a structure by putting higher level enemies in later zones and prevents access much better and in a much more natural way than a big animus wall ever did. And the abilities all felt different and unique. The only generic ones are supposed to be ones that you sink extra points into once you’ve acquired all the other abilities. Finally the side quests and rewards from said side quests where pretty good and we’re mostly different from the “go here, assassinate this guy”. I remember following around a street brawler for example and having a bunch of street brawls in his name before having a final fight with him against a number of opponents at once. I found it rather entertaining and a nice break from running around and looting tombs and outposts.
@yordlejay68206 жыл бұрын
but that' isn't assassins creed. I love RPGs don't get me wrong but AC should not be turned into an RPG. The reason areas were locked off by big animus wall made sense in lore and in gameplay tho so I saw no problem with it
@supercraft1176 жыл бұрын
SomeIdiotWithAGame true it made sense and worked but what this game did was a straight improvement to it in my opinion. Also the ac formula is so over used now. Every game played the same, every game felt the same, and the new gimmick each game added was either like the zip line, taking away as much as it added, or it is a well done gimmick that never really added and evolved the series. Also did you play unity and syndicate? Both of those games had RPG mechanics and they were still very traditional assassins creed games

Honestly Jon, the ending of Assassin's Creed games are always a little flat because there's a gimmick to the series that always pops up to hijack the ongoing story of the past to try and connect everything in with a "main" storyline which ultimately went nowhere. I won't spoil them because the twists are genuinely hilarious and from out of nowhere, but it's the same twist for like 5 or 6 games in a row. Not exactly riveting, but not really a detriment to the overall enjoyment of the gameplay either. It's like the ending to Mass Effect 3. It may be a mark against the franchise but I'll be damned if I don't play through the series every so often until that last hour and a half.

Same here, just recently played Unity (and like Jon found it to be OK, not great, but enjoyable and I had the luck to have a friend along for the coop missions) and Syndicate and with both lost interest about half way in. Sadly length is one of the things people expect to get out of games when it would really be good for the AC games to tighten their story telling a bit.
@MrGhosta56 жыл бұрын
You might like Rogue or liberation then as they are much more condensed narratives. Most of the hate for Unity comes from the fact that it was broken at launch and Ubisoft took moinths to make the game playable. Unity also added microtransations to the campaign which raised concerns of Ubisoft slowing progression to make the microtranscations more tempting.
@5Andysalive6 жыл бұрын
Unity had a story. Syndicate has "liberate 30 areas" The end. Just for the sake of it. Origins has this vibe in the midgame. But it's buid into an actual story which then comes back.

Jon, if their icon is red they are too tough for you to take on. If it’s a skull instead of a number you can’t even hurt them. Outfits are cosmetic, you need to upgrade your gear in the crafting menu to get better armor. Horses and camels from the stables are also cosmetic. Supplies are carried around by the Greeks (which is who you’re fighting btw, not the Romans, you’ll meet the Romans later). Later you can find some nice choke points on roads and just kill all the supply parties that come through. The weird rolling around after takedowns is because you haven’t got your hidden blade yet. Once you get it they’ll just die instead. I have 90 hours in this game and this whole video was a bit painful. 🤦🏻♀️
@Yammka896 жыл бұрын
Another thing that would have helped Jon a lot in this video, is that you can fight from horse-/camel-back. It's almost OP to take on enemies on horseback, the Phylakes that are terrifying to take down on foot are a cakewalk with a horse.

Unity had a toned down RPG system, and I'd say it worked pretty damn well. You could still take on lvl 5 right away if you've learned your basics of CQC, it's just that if you've missed one strike you'll be erased out of existence, have your game deleted, system corrupted and your CPU will melt.

I absolutely hate the Level System. Even the cheapest village guard is immortal if your level is too low. It's by a long distance the dumbest idea ever in an AC game. Still, the story is good. And the world is stunning. And at least they didn't slow the leveling with grind.It's relatively quick.

I have the same relationship with this franchise. Love the concept. Game play is generally solid at its core... I have however finished one: Black Flag. Unity had a story. And a okish one of that. And story and history setting makes a good ac for me. I can't remember ANYTHING from Black Flag but the Ship fights. That makes it a fun ship fighting game. Not a good AC. Still. Hate the level system in Origins.. Btw i remember the french disliked Unity because it showed the french revolution as the messy bloodbath that it was, not the gloryfied fairy tale some make of it.

I remember everything from BF personally. Also this game is utter shite. The fact that you can't 1 shot assassinate people is stupid and takes away the point of assassinating.

SomeIdiotWithAGame I really like this game. I played for like 50 hours and the only reason Jon couldn't one shot people is because he was a lower level than what the game suggested. It's very fun just to run around on my horse doing quests for random people and exploring tombs.

AnDay5zlebt Don't forget that the game mechanics in Unity were the best ones in the entire Franchise. Combat felt challenging for once, a nice change from pressing two buttons and killing horders of enemies and the climbing felt so incredibly smooth. Unity would have been the best AC game if it wasn't for all the bugs at release.

That shouldn't be a thing tho. This is assassins creed level shouldn't matter when it comes to assassinations.

If I'm able to figure out a sound way to assassinate someone I should be allowed to just go ahead and do it. The old AC games stopped this perfectly by having a linear story system withing an open world with side quests
