I haven't played Unity yet, but am a huge fan of AC (AC2 is prolly my fav game ever) and I think Unity got a bad rep purely on the release, other than that it seems a really solid game and tbh especially from videos like this it looks like the most realistic and amazing in terms of freerunning and assassinations. Like at 3:30 when he takes out 3 guards, he kills 2 in smoke, and the other knows something is wrong, looking round and reacting so realistically.

Other than the release glitches, here are the other problems Unity has, imo at least: The story was rather sub-par (too much focus on the lovestory between Arno and Elise, which they could have done well, but didn't). Dead Kings did have a better story, but the damage is already done. The characters weren't really interesting (apart from Elise, Germain and Napoleon, imo) There was way too much side-content with most of it not being that interesting (except the Murder Mysteries and Co-Op misssions, either way though, 100%-ing Unity takes a lot of time trust me) Historical elements could have been used a lot better (Germain and Napoleon are exceptions, and yes, Germain did exist in real life as a silversmith who dissapeared from public after becoming bankrupt and being publicly humiliated, a fact which Ubisoft used really well to make him into a Templar in this game and keeping his side job to be a silversmith, but otherwise, other elements of the French Revolution were just kept for the uninteresting side missions, like, for example, Marie Antoinette, one of the most prominent figues of the revolution, ONLY APPEARS FOR THE INTRO CUTSCENE OF ONE SIDE MISSION, this is why i consider the attention given to the lovestory between Arno and Elise a bad part about this game, because we could have experienced the French Revolution's effects throught the main story rather than a lovestory) Modern day story goes nowhere, again, like Black Flag and Rogue, you're some random first-person Initiate. Seriously, Ubisoft, stop with this fucking pointless Initiate thing, and have us focus on Rebecca, Shaun, William and Galina (i think that's what her name was). Even though Syndicate ACTUALLY WENT SOMEWHERE with the story, it still was a small amount. Bring back Desmond, or use his son as a plot point (and yes it's confirmed he has a son), or do more with Juno and Minerva and the rest of the first civilization, or tie up Callum to the game story (the protagonist from the Assassin's Creed movie), or something, MAKE THE STORY GO SOMEWHERE RATHER THAN FOCUSING ON SOME INITIATE WHO DOES NOTHING AT ALL. Whatever Ubisoft have on their minds with this shit, i doubt it's going to be as good as what could have happened instead with the story. Getting currency. Oh, boy, getting currency is in this game is a NIGHTMARE (even worse than Brotherhood, and trust me, getting currency in Brotherhood already was hard as shit especially if you wanted to 100% the game). If you want to get all the good Legendary gear and upgrade it to maximum, you better do a lot of Co-Op to get free Legendary gear (or just do a ton of side-missions or renovations so you can get income from the Cafe Theatre, and do a ton of air and blend assassinations, vanishes, Phantom Blade kills and other stuff to get them Creed Points (for the upgrades) Voice acting. Not bad, but as you know, it ain't the fitting French accents (or Italian accent in Napoleon's case), but instead it's British accents. Freedom Cry and Rogue (the latter released around the same time as Unity was) had French accents, yet Unity doesn't? The fuck? I mean, sure, you can always turn up the voice language to French (which actually has the same feeling as the English one, but with immersive language and accents, Arno sounds very similar to his English counterpart for example, in terms of his voice's tone), but seriously? They did the accents right with the English language in previous games, why not Unity? And finally, two words. "Wasted potential". Sums the game up perfectly. Overall, I like the game, i have it myself, the gameplay is solid, but even I can see that it could have been a lot better (arguably the best Assassin's Creed game ever, even, imo at least).

Pure gameplaywise i think Unity would be my favourite assassins creed game. Lorewise Syndicate looks quite fun but the amount and fluidness of the executions/assassinations and combat/freerun moves look so much better in Unity
