I think Eivor is a good guy/gal. Havi, on the other hand, isn't. Havi is selfish, self-centered a probably part of an Isu Pantheon that enjoyed war and oppress their enemies and lower classes. He was so hellbent on surviving that he simply bulldozed everyone. What Fenrir was, we don't know. What te Jotun was we also don't know, but I don't think they were humans, but maybe a lower caste of Isu. You see, Aletheia is from the greek pantheon, Loki is from the norse, so I assume that he is a crossbreed of pantheons, which were political enemies. Freya was also from another faction, Vanir, not Aesir. Another one of his hypocrisies. His problem was with whatever the Jotum were.

I'm going to be completely honest. I understand this is probably a hot take but I genuinely think that the ending without Sigurd is the "true ending". Throughout, the game Sigurd changes. He becomes reckless and harsh. For Eivor, to blindly stick with his brother, despite seeing these blatant changes. While loyal, just ultimately feels kind of stupid. It would be like if in RDR2, Arthur ended up siding with Dutch at the end of the game. Narratively, it doesn't make sense. By constantly blindly siding with Sigurd, you're ignoring Eivor's character growth through the game. Understandably, the ending without Sigurd is more sad, but narratively it makes more sense, it's more solemn, more quiet, and somehow still it's most beautiful. Through the "bad ending" the game in the end ultimately feels more like Shakespearean tragedy, both characters have pervasive flaws, that lead to Eivor's betrayal, but it's so much more human, it's not "happily ever after", but it doesn't have to be, and somehow (to me at least) that just makes it better.

Standing up against Sigurd, not following the “Viking’s code” that he was taught his entire life because he’s realized it’s inherent flaws, overall it just makes for a better story, and shows the growth of Eivor as a more morally complex character. And I have to believe that Darby feels the same way, in most of his interviews Darby states that Eivor betrays Sigurd, and that the ending isn’t going to be a happy one, that it’s a more pensive, thoughtful ending. The great things about AC Valhalla is, you need to collect the info and clues to get your assassination target. A lot more to explore
@Nempo133 жыл бұрын
You don't have to collect ALL of those clues. You can...going from the only partially hidden bodies, find the target and kill them that way too. Also, if instead of going for the loot you first kill all the soldiers in an area first...you inadvertantly kill many targets rather than have to do some of the mini games like drinking lol.

Might be just me but I couldn't give a rats arse about the 'real world' aspect of assassin's creed. All this shite with Isu's and prophets became convoluted and tedious the second it was introduced at the end of AC2. Why can't it just be a game about an illuminati type cult throughout history as a springboard to getting to explore all these interesting time periods? It simply doesn't need the extra layer of boring, tedious storytelling. I refuse to believe anyone buys an assassins creed game for anything other than the historic roleplaying aspect. I find myself skipping all real world cutscenes and racing through the segments to get back in the animus. I also find the god side quests (DLC in Odyssey and the Asgard missions in Valhalla) extremely tedious, poorly written and poorly implemented. It should be exciting to visit these places but they feel like lifeless sandboxes with linear fetch quests attached. SPOILERS Also, why is Sigurd staying considered the 'Good ending'? Absolutely nothing happened to endear Eivor to him. He was a completely shitty character that we were told by the story we care about without actually providing reasons to. It's like the writers of Game of Thrones wrote AC: Valhalla's story.

I thought the choices we made had a meaningful impact on the story. I think Eivor is a good guy/gal. Havi, on the other hand, isn't. Havi is selfish, self-centered a probably part of an Isu Pantheon that enjoyed war and oppressing their enemies and lower classes. Basim didn't betray Eivor, but Havi. He thought they were one and the same as he is Loki, but Eivor said no to Odin in his mind, Eivor is his own person now. That's why when they meet in that vision outside of the hut, in real time, there is no ill will between them. But he needs Havi's memory to learn of his son's whereabouts. What Basim tells us about how the Order killed his son, he wasn't wrong. The Order worshipped the Isu first and foremost, so it is safe to assume that his son died because of ones the Order worship. Whether Basim is an antagonist or an Anti-hero it remains to be seen, but I love his character lore and development.
