This bugged me so much. Also with Charles the bald they are surely not emerging as a "new power". I know the game is not supposed to be 100% historical accurate, but this is just blatantly wrong as if they did no research at all or just didn't care. I loved origins, but I can't with Valhalla. The trailer battles and everything looks exactly the same like everything else we have seen in the game so far...

And if thats the case, the Viking army that was invading this region of France was very much an invading army and not a native army expelling Frankish foreigners. Infact, Scandinavian forces had been raiding and invading the low countries and northern France for several decades up to this point. So it makes the whole "a new power is arising in Frankia" comment, somewhat strange. I mean, lets be clear.. its just Ubisoft rewriting history however they like it to fit their "Eivor needs to be the hero" narrative, however absurd. AC Valhalla is very much a fantasy game.

I was a fan of this franchise but Valhalla was just too much. Super repetitive and just bloated. I much prefer a game with a smaller world with more polish and meaningful content than just copy and pasting the same stuff over and over again. DLC isn't supposed to be something that totally changes the game, it's supposed to use the base game as a foundation, building on top of it to add new stories, characters, gameplay concepts, etc. etc. Maybe you should adjust your expectations to be a bit more realistic. Besides if your argument is that it looks repetitive, I mean you ever played a Ubisoft game before? That's kind of how they roll and they aren't going to change now so the fact it's very similar to the base game or the other DLC isn't exactly a shock.

They have the rat infestations in the sewers, they have the bigger focus on stealth assassinations and some new side activities with new weapons and abilities. Sure it's similar to the base game but that's because it's a DLC. It's supposed to be more of the same, you only buy the DLC for a game usually if you liked the base game and wanted more.

Well I finally finished it and though the ending didn't feel like any kind of ending the one thing that disappointed me most was I went to four different countries with in this game and honestly never felt like I really left England. Everything was almost an exact copy and paste with minor differences in the layout. But I guess that's the end of the game

I’m actually happy the Franks are shown to be a Germanic people with a Germanic material culture. To many tv shows and docs cast the Franks as something they weren’t. They were just another Germanic cousin to the Anglo Saxons, Frisian, Danes, Alemanns, etc., etc. However the majority of subjects the Franks ruled over were romanized Gauls. Only one thing though, why aren’t the Franks wearing nasal helms like everybody else during this time.

Yeah basically most of the probably more simple npcs or Frankish characters are Gauls genetically and racially since the Frankish/Germanic population didn't have that much of an effect and changing their genes of the rest of the people.. And yes despite the fact that the game is not 100% or even 50% historically accurate which understandable ,it still kind of irritates me that at least some of them should wear nasal helms.
