No, female makes more sense due to the splitting strands glitch moment when she gets nearly mauled by a wolf. The reason it happens, and Rebecca says there are two strands of DNA is because in that moment, due to the trauma, Eivor's Odin memories awakened. This is the same thing that happened to Sigurd, and the two other sages in the game (I'm not trying to spoil stuff for people who are still playing through the story). Also, there is a letter where Eivor is specifically adressed as Eivor Varinsdottir. This is the case whether you play male or female.

Svandis Dora Einarsdottir's family are clearly still following Viking traditions. dottir means daughter in old norse, so in the Viking tradition the daughter would also take their fathers name and then follow it with the dottir to indicate who their father was.. For example The Witcher, I love the english Voice of Geralt but I could never abandon the german Voice of him.. Main Characters in german dubbing always sound pretty good. But backround actors always are on the slightly below average range sadly, and where you have elven, human or other accents in english, there are none in the german version sadly. Precisely the reason I play Valhalla in english
