If I remember correctly, I remember it said that he doesn't have the power to destroy earth, I remember it was like 0.003% something percent that he will explode. But since he clearly doesn't look human, people still deemed him as a potential threat to earth, so the government had to design a plan to kill him, even though he is the best sensei QAQ

I love how he clearly grows as a character over the show, learning his way as a teacher. But yet he still cared way more through spending time with Aguri, since he took blame for destroying the moon and decided to teach class 3-E in the first place.

I’d have to agree. The students themselves really sell it for me, just everyone being so overwhelmed by emotion during the roll call. But it was after they killed him and everyone started crying that I cried my eyes out too.. I don’t think anyone could’ve seen this coming if the first season is anything to go off of.
