I think the Rise version is fine and makes absolute sense imo. The Crimson Glow is a Valstrax that mutated terribly and became insane. It fell from grace and is bent on destroying everything because the dragon blight took over. It has essentially become a villain. Hence, the reason why the Rise song sounds so aggressive, sad, and evil.

In the original version the theme hits much harder with strings accompanying the vocals, but in Rise, aside from adding a few more segments to the song, they play the main chorus twice which I think is much better,. They are both very good on their own but combine the two and we have a masterpiece, thanks for making this.

I can still see that moment, when Valstraax took flight then 1:07 came and I took his dive with my Lance' power guard. Depleted my stamina but so does his. We look at each other as my Palico and Palamute regained their footing. 1 cart left. Clash of steel and dragon fire. That win, when this dragon falls down before my lance. It felt so good. Damn.

Here in Rise, we see Basarios but no Gravios to date (Gravios is also mentioned in the bio for Basarios!). Diablos appearing in both Gen 5 titles but no Monoblos. Leviathan skeletons being used but no Lagiacrus. And so on...
