"You did not earn these [Assassin Robes] but... they suit you." - Leader of the Assassins. "You wear your convictions well... they suit you." - Leader of the Templars. It's weirdly satisfying for Edward to receive recognition and respect from both the Templars and Assassins. It shows how much he really changed. Despite all the odds Edward emerged as a good man with a cause and a code he was willing to follow. And to me it seems Torres was grateful that his death was caused by a man of conviction (even if Torres disagreed with him) instead of a money obsessed parasite. It means that even though Torres didn't agree with the Assassins, his death meant something.
