Very good video. When I invaded this sector about 5 Zenos Destroyers in the sector but the reinforcement that was coming while I attacked the sector.

I just use my Erlking to kill stations and never have any problem or lost... But why you use purple color? I choose the red color to be faster. I don't know what the purple give... More shield?

Purple/gold distracts enemy gunners and gives them -10% accuracy!

I hate the cross fire between friendly ships.It's like the A.I. is unaware there are friendlies inbetween.

It would go much smoother if ships properly attacked station surface elements. For some reason it's buggy and even if you explicitly set them to do so they still shoot center of mass. Did a shitton of tests during the previous DLC using different bombers that should have scraped everything of the station on the first pass yet they kept lobbing torpedoes at the center of mass, only occasionally sending them towards turrets. Then other times destroyers get some sudden clarity and use their main guns to clear graviton turrets before engaging the structure.

I don't mind them destroyer AI failing to attacking surface elements. However, I do mind them not running away even though their shields are down and its hull is quickly being chewed through by a Graviton turret that barely has to adjust its firing arc. They have a survival instinct of a fat panda.

Just curious, what turrets do you generally use for missile defense? I've been using flak for taking down fighters, do those work for missiles too?

Flak is pretty decent for missiles. Good enough for my purposes anyway. I usually just pick the best available anti-fighter turret, set half of them to "shoot missiles first" and the other half to fighters first, and call it a day.

Was this all recorded on the 7.0 update which had graphical improvements such as the explosions, TAA, etcetera, or are you using the graphics mod that adds fire and smoke to the game? (Or both, wouldn't that kinda overlap/interfere?)

Most of the video was just me standing on the bridge or using the basic external view with the HUD off. The closing shot and one or two shots in the middle used the fixed external camera. To use it, get your camera to a spot you like using the other camera modes, then press F4 to lock it in place. Then you can zoom/pan using the usual numpad keys.

@@omegacon4 Look under your control settings for a keybind called "hide UI" or something similar. Mine's bound to shift+H, but I'm not sure whether that's the default.

The Phoenix makes me cry. Why oh why has Egosoft decided to not give it a 3rd L Turret spot? It's so self-evident to put a turret on that top wing. Sometimes I really think Toddlers could design better Ships than Egosoft Developers.

Why do you use so many Phoenixes? Aren't they the worst Destroyers? Ideally, wouldn't you want mostly Syns and Odysseuses?

Phoenix E is a huge change from the old models. It's currently the most cost-effective purchasable destroyer by a wide margin, and it's fun to watch due to its very high speed and asymmetrical turret arcs.

@@CptSnuggles07 What makes it the most cost effective? I haven't started my sandbox game yet, but aren't the E-models more expensive than the non-e-models? I haven't found any video truly showcasing a comparison between the old variants and the new E-variants of ships.

@@Swodah Compared to the old variants, the Phoenix E is slightly more expensive but still very cheap, and vastly more effective. It's now the fastest destroyer, which when combined with its high HP allows it to effectively disengage when under heavy fire and then reengage quickly, maximizing the effectiveness of the new AI behaviors. Its new model improved the firing arcs of its large turrets, allowing it to apply good damage to targets forward, aft, and below. And it's pretty hard to hit from the side due to the thin central axis. So, it's extremely mobile, survivable, and applies consistent damage.
