This is a great find for me, because I just got an '07 Victory Kingpin Tour with the all the same motor components. Definitely saving this video for future mechanical purposes on my bike!

Great video, the only way out could have been better if to hear it run at the end! Thank you for making these 2 videos!

Agreed. That was the plan. I recorded it running in the shop but my audio equipment didn't like it.

The nut holding on the torque compensator is a stake nut which when it is tightened you take a punch and stake the lip to the cut out in the shaft. It is insurance that the nut can not back out. This is why it is one use. I see no reason to stop so you can stake it in a new area of the nut. Those 6, #6 allens are also 1 use. and require red loctite.

Hello from France. I have a small problem with the sixth gear , it jumps and I fall back to fifth under 130km/h (80 MPH) unless I keep the selector in high position with the foot . According to the dealer it would be the pinion of the 6 which would be worn and very expensive repair 3500 € 😱 . A colleague Victorien , told me that he thought that the concern came according to him from the fork and that it would be easier to change and therefore cheaper . Do you think he is in the truth ? Thank you and long live Victory, I have been in love with My Vision since May 2011. She has 66486 miles to date. Sorry for my English, but I am obliged to pass by translation it is like me, not very young lol.

I can't answer that specific question. That being said, if it were my bike I would remove the primary cover and inspect the shift linkage for any obvious wear or problems before I committed to taking the transmission apart.

@@adamfrancis5407 Thank you very much, I will ask if the dealer can do just that. Have a good day

@@adamfrancis5407 Hello again. Is it possible that the linkage is only involved in one gear? Thanks again.

I'd go with the fork which is not that much. All my years with Victory and on the forums I never heard of any one having to go into the actual tranny for any fix, outside of c- clip failure. The $3500 is all labor for what they want to do. And if it is what they think then your better off getting another engine for $1300 or so.

This vid was flipping me out. It looked like everything was backward and the engine sides were reversed. Everything you torqued looked like left hand threads as you turned them counter clockwise like looking in a mirror..I can't figure it as when your working on the gear box it looks like the right side of the motor witch is opposite of every other motor. Lots of great info. That nut on the torque compensator is a special nut called a staking nut and is why they want it replaced. probably to cover their ass. With that much torque I don't see it going anywhere either. The only thing I could see is the impact in the compensator may cause loosening At $14 ea. I'll use the old one with some loctite and a couple of drops behind the nut. Let use know how the bike is running. Sucks you had to go threw all that as those bearings are pretty much immune to failure. Still think it dried out from sitting.

Sorry about that. Its just the way the camera recorded it and forgot to edit it out. The bikes been running great no problems. I think ive put about 500 miles on this season so far with out a problem

My torque wrench only goes to 110 ft lbs. If I torque the drive spline nut twice @ 90 lbs, will that give me 180? .... I know, I'm an asshole.
