Assembling the Next Level Racing F-GT Elite Cockpit... this is NOT going to plan

My oh my am I having a hard time setting up my racing simulator. Is it just me, or are these instruction manuals so hard to follow? Especially for the cockpit.
If any of you have advice, or can relate, let me know in the comments. I would much rather be able to watch a step by step video, but unfortunately the videos online all skip over many parts. I guess that's understandable - who wants to make a 10 hour video? Not me...

Hey guys, thanks for the comment... I actually did use that video during the setup, and it was marginally helpful as it was very surface-level. I still could have used more detailed videos on each step to ease the uncertainty. Regarding the adjustments, I understand it all comes down to user preference, but when you're setting it up for the first time, you have no idea what your preference is and how that translates to a specific setting on the cockpit. (I knew I wanted more of a formula seating position, but I didn't know what that meant in terms of where to set the wheelbase frame or the pedal base. For me, what would've been helpful here is a statement like, "for setup, we recommend setting part X to notch Y, and then adjusting after everything is complete." That way, I wouldn't have been uncertain the whole time while building the cockpit. That, and providing better diagrams and indications on what parts are optional, versus what parts are essential. I think these are minor tweaks that could go a long way. Aside from a difficult setup, the cockpit has been fantastic - high quality and super rigid.

I feel your pain watching this video man! I have the same rig and probably spent 3 full days of labor including the final adjustments. It was very painful at the time but totally worth it when done.

Such a great rig, have the same and i love it. Took me quite some time to assemble cause i took it slow, same as you. Just do it relaxed, its fun. I bought the elite Hardware Kit, i can recommend it. Its just 99 Euro (in Europe) and it saves you from mistakes you are making with lots of spare parts. Great Vids, keep going

I have the same rig. Doing some remodeling on the room it will call home and then I will begin assembly. Probably next week. Look at it this way...if it were easy, then everybody would be doing it. :)

Nice, good luck! I like your way of seeing it. I’m sure it’s more enjoyable if you like building things. I on the other hand simply have a desire to race, so anything that gets in the way of that is a nuisance 😆

I have the same Elite F/GT simrig, Im happy with it but building was a nightmare. It took me (alone) a week to complete it. Once its done, it is like a tank, very sturdy. I totally understand you! I also have the NLR Motion Platform V3, can you imagine installing it?....

The chair is more comfortable than I expected. So far I’ve been happy with it, despite the plastic frame coming across as a cheaper seeming material.

You have a very nice setup but I do think you are overthinking everything just use some common sense and just follow the instructions and before you know it the rig will be complete and a word of advice just sung the bolts together and do not overtighten until you get the everything into the final position that you desire good luck on the build
