I "completely" restore antique Farmall tractors, especially the M's. One at a time, I unfix the decades of farmer field repairs, then return them to factory original, A long and tedious process. There is no money in the work, I always spend at least double what the tractor would fetch at the tractor show. Farmall tractors were made to last forever back in the day. It is pure joy to put one back in original condition and a great hobby in my retirement. Great watching all your videos Pete.

When I was growing up, both my grandfather and father were very mechanically inclined. Me, not so much. They both knew alot but they weren't great teachers as they didn't possess a great deal of patience. But there is a saying "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear". Thanks for making these very informative and entertaining videos!

Great Job! You have the gift of teaching. I learned a lot. I appreciate you showing us that we can make an error, and doing your double and triple checks then finding the problem and fixing it. We all can make errors but the good guys catch it before startup if we are lucky. Your telling every one to check before finial assembly is a great statement. Thank you again for your Videos! I am a big fan.

Pretty amazing . That old tractor will be good for another life spent on the farm.. Things were made simple & made to last.. My daughter has a small JD diesel thats 20 yrs old... It sat for 2 yrs with the brakes set & they locked up.. Im was sure the its a matter of breaking them loose.. But , she's 600 miles away & no mechanical skills... She had the local JD dealer come pick it up .. Nxt day they told her it would cost $7800 to fix it.. I visited my daughter last month & my 1st task was her tractor... Its a 4x4 with low range so I locked it in 4x4 , open the throttle & dumped the clutch.. Brakes popped loose & she just finished mowing 30 acres... Hate to say it , but that J Deer dealer fully expected to scam my daughter outta several grand... P.S. I made the trip to that dealer & had words with the mngr .. I looked at the estimate & they had two new rims , two new tires , the entire parts list for the brake system & this without even touching the tractor . Pathetic ! Learn to work on your own equipment is my advice..

That felt good to spend 1/2 of an hour watching this video and learning several things. 1) how the transmission works 2) how to measure & check, recheck, and check, disassemble, and recheck again. 3) how to have a positive attitude after doing all that work and realizing you wasted over an hour from one small detail that was missed and had to be redone. 4) I learned people still care when you admit you messed up and persevered to win. Great job Pete, we are looking forward to seeing this come together.

Well I was a dollar short, but not a day late, I've been pacing back and forth for couple days now waiting for this video to show up. I knew what exciting things were coming! after watching the full restoration on the MD. And sure enough you did not disappont me Pete. this was as interesting, thrilling and exciting to watch. At 79 my tractor work is limited to my Cub lawn mower, I just pulled the engine out of that, had two sheared off motor bolts!! that had to be drilled out and retaped for new ones. have no clue why it broke two rear bolts? never hit anything with it ? but you came to mind a lot whilst in the mist of doing that. so see! you do inspire us old farts too! Thanks so much for taking the time to tutor and inspire us all. and for sharing. EVF

There’s a lot of satisfaction in taking the time, and using the proper tools to accomplish a task. Not only will the transmission and rear-end run smoothly and quiet, they won’t get hot and deteriorate gaskets and o-rings. They will provide a lifetime of trouble free operation.

From where I am sitting it looked as though you saw that bear coming and side stepped her, then you did the eating. I’m in adoration that you found the flaw just by looking at it and caught it in time. It’s very exciting for me as a novice to think there’s only this empty metal box sitting there that will soon become a tractor called a Super C. I already see how much more fiddling was required on the MD. (my favorite) I look forward with much anticipation to see the Super C again except in all her glory. Who would have thought I was so interested in tractors. Thanks for awakening my new curiosity. Go team Farmall!
