California, the champion of solar, was ready to throw in the towel. Net Metering 3.0 slammed the brakes on the solar industry, leaving thousands jobless and threatening the state's clean energy goals.
But then, a glimmer of hope emerged! Assembly member Damon Connolly stepped up with Assembly Bill 2619, a bold proposal to revive solar affordability, resurrect the solar industry, and reignite California's clean energy dream.
This fight is far from over and AB2619 might just be what California needs.

Whatever the solution it needs to bring the ROI to below 6 years. Most consumers can't swallow the idea that they are paying 6+ years for something and then at year 10 they have to buy new batteries for 20k because they've worn out. That part is rarely brought up in the conversation.

Grids should target being a genuine backup system and a system that balances battery storage levels

Did I mention that roofs are cooler under rooftop solar PV panels. 😊

@dronequote Australia has many Colorbond roofs that rely on rain to wash corrosive stuff off. That is why Colorbond lasts so long. Colorbond under eve's becomes corroded and should be hosed down . I say all this because I suspect that the area under the solar panels should be painted before panels installed or soon after. Maybe painted white. Other roofing materials appear to be protected and so should last longer. Love your perspective and fight back.

Grid cash flow comes from the customers. Generators supplied the energy, the cheap stuff. Customers can supply the energy, the cheapest stuff. 😊😊😊😊😊

A higher rate for electricity if you have batteries? That makes no sense.

Yes, if you have batteries you should get paid a higher rate for power than if you don’t. Currently in CA you get 25% of the retail cost you pay for excess power.

@@dronequote Thanks for the clarification. Sounded like customers with batteries would be charged a higher rate.

Home battery or selfplug-in V2G EV for overnight might be the best long term solution. EV big batteries are free with the vehicle, Hahaha Hahaha 😊 Selfplug-in V2G EVs' computer and big battery will be the most valuable home plug-in on the planet. Existing national grid can be UNLOADED and available as a backup. No extremely expensive new grid construction. Grid expansion is a $TRILLIONS problem. Nuclear is the baby $billions problem. Using a little fossil fuels in emergency and winter weeks is nothing. Fossil fuels as feed stock to the chemical industry will remain. Fossil fuels for war fighting will always be stockpiled in emergency reserves. Tesla FSD, drive by wire will be the most powerful and reliable computer home owners will have. Reliable because people will die if it fails. 😮😮😮😮😮 Just saying, if you are looking forward remember horse meat was cheap when the Ford model T production line started. Hahaha 👍 Hahaha 😊😊 Offgrid in the suburbs is a real economic danger to grid owners. Millions and millions of customers, all with EVs, and big roof space, 220m2 avg. No going back if, the new model T rolls into towns and suburbs. Hahaha Hahaha 😆
