ASSESSMENT OF BURNS - ABCDE Assessment - The Rule of Nines - The Lund & Browder Chart- Palmer Method

Burn Injuries cause a significant insult to the body and a thorough ABCDE assessment followed by Head to toe assessment to calculate the TBSA involved in burns are crucial part of burn assessment. Burns depth may increase with time so re-assessment after 24-72 hours is essential.
A thorough patient history should be collected regarding the time & mechanism of burn injury, first aid provided & TT status ? & associated injuries like smoke inhalation, carbon monoxide poisoning etc.
