Would you then recommend the builder to replace all the pieces with mold growth?

Great question! Not at all… I don’t feel that replacement of structural wooden framing members is required, in order to achieve a satisfactory level of cleanliness. In a perfect world, sure! Replace it all. However, with the advancement in cleaning products that professionals have access to nowadays, we can get the vast majority of that wood cleaned up, before the builder moves on to drywall, insulation, etc. In this instance, it was my recommendation to use a product like Serum Systems - which is a 20% hydrogen peroxide cleaner. Using this, an individual can apply this product to the surface of the wood, allowing for enough dwell time for the peroxide to lift the fungal growth to the surface and allow for HEPA vacuuming of the contamination from the surface.
