To be fair, the patriarch was the looter. It so happens that he was a forward planner in a way many of our people simply aren't (the Kirimas and other wealthy families where fights break out upon the patriarch's death immediately come to mind). Very astute observation. More times than not if a darker skinned person is speaking on British TV...there will be subtitles if the person doesn't have a perfect BBC/Queen's English accent. However if a white person is speaking...with say, a very thick Liverpudlian/Scouse accent...or a very thick Glasgow accent...this will not get subtitles as a rule.
