The V10 tops out at around 320 but this one stays in the 330 ballpark and even hit 340 so I think the V6 was only slightly faster down there. Still glad it lost though.

It's impossible to compare the f2004 to the w07 or the sf70h. Most of the tracks have changed, or changed layout. You will realize that the cars are actually fairly balanced.

I think the difference was caused by two things: The new car not being able to deploy for the whole lap as intended (so removing the deployment per lap limit would speed it up by a few seconds) and the traction control of the old car helped out of the slower corners

When i'm in sim I experience the view properly as I'm wearing the VR headset. The headset basically has 2 monitors inside it (one for each eye) which creates the 3D effect. Unfortunately I can only record the left eye from the footage, which is why it always seems as if my view is off centre.

Awesome lap Jimmy, awesome drive, awesome everything! I noticed that the 8th gear looks too long when you used it everywhere but the big straight section, and as a guy who loves to test different setups myself, i would keep the 8th that way to be used only in that straight, also i would make a little tweak in the 7th gear, maybe in the 6th gear too, to make you avoid to engage the 8th before the big straight. Just my opinion, bro. Some adjustments can be done also if you notice that you hardly engage the 1st and 2nd gears in that track, so it would enable you to do something like having a long 1st gear to be used in the slowest sections, and one more gear between the 1st and the 8th, what would be a killing move. I bet you could drop your time by at least 5 seconds doing that, maybe even 10 seconds. No, I'm not crazy. Please try it. From a brazilian Ayrton Senna fan.

@luuk341 It's not really a fair comparison however. The F2004 Ferrari had a naturally aspirated V10 engine with none of the modern gimmicks of todays cars. The modern F1 cars needs the turbos, DRS and the kinetic and thermal energy recovery systems as to not lose to much speed and make it keep up. Whilst impressive I agree, you cant compare a non turbo engine with a turbo one. What would have been fun to see is how the F2004 would do with a turbocharged V10, slick tyres, DRS and the energy recovery system. It would probably hit 400km/h.

Is it possible to adjust the amount of deployable Energy? Because the Nordschleife is around 3 to 3.5 times longer than even Spa, and seeing as how "close" (closer to each other than to the Nordschleife) the other f1 circuits are in legth (4 - 7 km), adjusting the deployable energy to 3 times the current amount should give a more accurate depiction of how a current F1 car would(could) perform.

I think it's because of the engine TBH. I mean technology has come a LONG way, but they just aren't quite getting the same straight line speed out of the V6 as they were with those V10s yet. Maybe one day. The engine rules are holding them back a bit I think. The V10's were putting out around 1,100HP on max power, the Mercedes PU was putting out 1,010 according to the FIA (Via Motorsport.com) on max deployment, so they are getting close!

They are slower on the Straights because they have a lot more Drag that is caused by the massive amount of Downforce they create nowadays. Nothing to do with the V6 Engines

The balance of performance in terms of downforce and straight line pace is at a sweet spot in the 2004 cars. Modern tyres gives it the cornering pace which covers up for lower downforce. The v10 Era reached the highest topspeed ever at a circuit

F2004: + More consistent HP output cuz of the V10 + Higher top speed with the right aero & gear setup + Smaller & lighter which makes it more agile & quicker acceleration - Grooved & smaller tyres means less grip - No DRS - No KERS - Less aero & downforce F1 2017: + Better aero & downforce + Slick tyres which are also bigger for more grip + DRS + KERS adds 160 extra hp - It's bigger & heavier - KERS has a limited battery capacity which cannot be used for extended periods & - V6 engine is not as powerful as the V10
